A new package has showed up on the Ispazio repo, it is called “ActivateMMS2G”. Obiviously by the name of the package you know that iPhone 2g user’s prayers have been answered, this package once installed will activate the official Apple mms function for the iPhone 2g. Apple and AT&T had been saying that the first generation iPhone didn’t have the hardware to send mms, when all the hardware you need on a phone is a camera and a messaging app. In your face AT&T!!! Intstructions to install and use this package are below:
- Open cydia and find or search for “ActivateMMS2G”
- After you install it reboot your iPhone
- Now you will have the mms settings in settings>General>Network>Cellular Data Network>
- Enter your mms settings
- Reboot your iPhone
- Go into your sms app and you will see the camera button
- Enjoy MMS
Note: You have to make sure and have the right mms settings for your carrier, I posted a list of mms settings earlier this week so search for it or keep scrolling down.
After reboot I got additional preferences in Messeges settings and I got the Camera button i sms.app, but I do not have "Cellular Data Network" in settings.. Is it because I am in a polish carrier? Does it make a difference?

i did everything right but when i filled in the mms apn settings they always erase

Anyway, after installing, or trying to install APN Editing, I have info about errors: File not found at path AllowEDGEEditing and Object not found. Any other sollutions?
Hmm, any other working solution for me is, downgrade to 2.2.1, reJailbreaking, setting up and upgrate to 3.0 with correct APN.
Damn. Maybe another time. ;/
Or maybe someone will put in Cydia settings for polish carriers, like for Vodafone or T-Mobile which I've found.
Alright i've been looking at this and it may be a permissions error.. Im at the lake right now posting from my iphone but im still digging through it with terminal. Ill post if I find anything that will help

kay i figured it out…. but the prob is i have a family plan but i had bought a lx and just added on the data plan which was 20 bucks a month..but in order to make the apn to stay the celluar apn has to be the same as the mms apn…which is diffrent from my celluar apn.
Nope i tried that, when i made both apn's the same, the mms one still disapeared from the setting window.

I looked at these sites and they are no help to me since I dont speak poish, and that im in the US and use tmobile.
I know nothing about programming. Colud You explain me, what does "dopisz klucz "AllowEDGEEditing" typu boolean z wartością TRUE" mean? I have no freakin' idea…
wait. to go on the internet i have to use hiptop.t-mobile.com and to get mms i gotta use wap.voicestream.com but if i want mms i gotta make them both the same so i cant use the internet
Hey guys i had the same problem. What i did and has worked since was clicked reset settings then input everything again, rebooted, and it worked!
hmm i installed the activate 2G packaged, entered my APN settings but I dont see the camera icon on my sms app
u have to pop ur sim card out then back in for it to work everyone

After finished these two steps, I got MMS working

my iphone crashed as if it was locked but then i upgraded to the 3.0
, but decided not to try and download this again. lol
If your having problems with the settings saving, go to help.benm.at on your iphone and create a custom mobileconfig file – the second link with grey pic, choose your settings and then install, your phone will reboot and enjoy
OK i finally got it to work, do you know anything about how to get the resolution better on the recieved images?
If your on tmobile, and your using an iphone, tmobiles servers don't recognize what type of phone your sending or receiving the mms from so it is auto resized which messes up the quality
Exactly!.. the picture quality is bad when receiving a mms.. i hear that it's sized right when you send one.. hopefully there will be a fix for this soon.
Got some feedback that the method would drain the bettery life quickly if your phone were not in lockscreen.
in settings you need to setup max KB of MMS
BTW APN, I have faked APN, generated by help.benm.at, disabled EDGE, and activated Push.
My cash was 00.00 PLN before I connect to wifi and now i have – 5 PLN, by one single connect to wifi in home. By Push? Stupid addon for iPhone ;/

Well??? If ur apn keeps erasing. Is becuz it’s nit the same. Example. If ur on tmobile. If ur Internet is wap.voicestream.com. The mms has to b wap.voicestream.com. And make sure ur MMSC is web link. Like mmsc for tmobile is http://216.155.174.84/servlet/mms I hope that helps

You need to make sure your on firmware 3.0 not 2.X
Use swirly mms it’s less hastle, it works perfectly on 3.0.
i screwed up and installed the activatemms2g on my 3g 3.0 phone….it's locked up tighter than a….anyway….now what….any help is greatly appreciated…i hate the thought of a $500 brick!
I downloaded the app from cydia and after it told me to reboot I rebooted. My phone has been in reboot mode ever since last night. It can not start. I have 2.2.1 jailbreaked 2G iPhone. Anybody with ideas?
