How To Fix Absinthe Jailbreak Lockdown Error

Despite the Chronic Dev team updating the new Absinthe jailbreak to 2.0.1 some users are still having issues with the jailbreak.

If you are one of the unlucky ones to see either the “Could not connect to lockdown“ or “Error detecting device (lockdown error -5)” we have a solution.

Developers @pod2g and @pimskeks have both reported that the errors are just caused by a timeout. To fix and retry to jailbreak your device you can do the following:

Open Settings>General> scroll down to “Reset” and choose to “Erase All Content and Settings”. That will allow you to retry the jailbreak and hopefully be successful.

Trying to jailbreak iTouch 4G with iOS5.1.1 and Absinthe 2.0.2…. and it won’t work!
Fails every time with “Cannot connect to lockdownd”.
When I “Settings>General>Reset>Erase All Content and Settings”, the iTouch is essentially wiped clean, and so Absinthe says that it cannot jailbreak it because it’s not initialised. Connect the iTouch to iTunes, and it then rebuilds… taking 5-6 hours!
So this jailbreak doesn’t work.
I hope ChronicDevTeam can continue working on this.

I tried numerous times and multiple windows computers to jailbreak my iPhone 4S (no problem on my iPad 3), but received “ERROR: Could not connect to lockdownd” each time. I was concerned about losing all my data. However, the following worked beautifully and my iPhone 4S is now jailbroken! (1) Backup (2) Clicked Restore (3) After it restored, when it asked if I wanted to restore to a backup, opened and ran Absinthe. FINALLY, NO ERROR MESSAGE!!! (4) I restarted iTunes and it picked up where it left off, asking me if I wanted to restore to a backup. (5) I selected the most recent backup, and voila, my iPhone 4S is now jailbroken.

  Thank you!!! I’ve been researching this error for a week and this was the only thing that worked for me. Damn lockdownd!!! LOL! I have the 4S 9B206.

I got the same message, using version 2.04 on iphone4, however after disconnecting and rebooting the phone, everything seems to be working, with cydia already there. No need to reset and erase contents and settings

same thing happened to me when i used my PC…tried it twice and same thing *error lockdownd*. wasted alot of time…….

after that..
since i didnt want to delete data/restore…i thought
id give my brothers macbook air a shot and it worked flawlessly the
first try.

if you have this problem on a PC..try to find a MAC and try it there.

Any help appreciated…
I never jailbroke my iPhone but a friend did jb my last iPhone & it was destroyed.
I see absinthe.n94 & lockdown error messages in the low memory reports.
Any thoughts?
