With the SOPA scandal breaking news world wide the EFF is up in arms again. Once again the Electronic Frontier Foundation is on a mission to defend jailbreaking and the legalities of customizing and hacking your OWN device.
The EFF succeeded back in July of 2010 by getting the copyright offices to exempt jailbreaking from the Digital Millenium Copyright Act (DMCA) deeming jailbreaking your iOS device legal.
The problem we face now is that the 3 year exemption is set to expire soon and the EFF is trying to make sure jailbreaking is exempt from the DMCA once again.
We urge all of you reading this to head over to http://www.jailbreakingisnotacrime.org/ and write in your own thoughts and support on jailbreaking. Don’t forget to at the very least sign the petition.
Description:
bunnie Huang, author of Hacking the Xbox, is standing with the Electronic Frontier Foundation to defend users’ right to jailbreak. Will you sign on to bunnie’s letter to show the Copyright Office that users everywhere are demanding the right to jailbreak?
