Trip Chowdhry, of Global Equities Research, has stated that Apple may release 3 different HDTVs this upcoming March.
On Sunday, Chowdhry told a group of investors hisĀ “converged view” on an anticipated Apple HDTV, with information based on details culled from a number of developer events he attended, reports AppleInsider.
Chowdhry says his “converged view” of data from various developers is “probably” 75 percent accurate, and that it will “probably” be launched in March of 2012, with developer sessions at the Worldwide Developers Conference in June.
It is rumored that the TV will have only one cable, and come equipped with 16 speakers. Talk about surround sound. Chowdhry stated that the use of external home media speakers will not even be necessary.
He also stated that, “The DSP chip in Apple HDTV is a brand new chip based on Apple’s acquisition of PA Semi. As of now, this new chip is not in mass production.”
I’m sure the HDTV will be great, provided the price is competitive with HDTV of the same nature. If Apple TV is included in the HDTV, which I’m it will be, the HDTV will be well worth it.
