Steve Jobs: 1955 – 2011

Today the world lost a true visionary, a man who started what is right now one of the wealthiest companies in the world from the back of his parents garage.

Steven Paul Jobs 56 lost his battle against pancreatic cancer today and will forever be known as the charismatic cool cat who always wore jeans, a turtleneck, and tennis shoes.

Steve jobs the mastermind behind the the iPod, iPhone, iPad, and many many more will forever be in our ears, on our desks, and in our hands. Our deepest condolences to Steve’s family, friends, and co workers. Apple’s online website has Steve’s photo and a small farewell up on it’s homepage at http://www.apple.com.

Apple has set up a special email address so you can send your condolences and past memories of Steve “The Great”: rememberingsteve@apple.com

One last thing Steve:

Here’s to the crazy ones. The misfits. The rebels. The trouble-makers. The round heads in the square holes. The ones who see things differently. They’re not fond of rules. And they have no respect for the status-quo. You can quote them. Disagree with them. Glorify, or vilify them. But the only thing you can’t do is ignore them. Because they change things. They push the human race forward. And while some may see them as the crazy ones, we see genius. Because the people who are crazy enough to think they can change the world Are the ones who do

Yeah, U know I’m so sick of all these Steve Jobs praises now that he’s dead. Yes he was an amazing innovator and inventor, but he was also a stifler of other creativity. Suing companies/individuals that badmouthed him, and persucuting other companies who had the audacity to think outside the box and go their own way (just like he did). It is not hypocritical to say how awesome and inspiring he was, and in the same breadth say “oh my God how much further could we be if he had only given us all he had instead of trying to pump every nickel out of us.” I mean I’m for capitalism and think it’s the greatest system, but you have the same people who are occupying wall street, that are praising how much Steve jobs was against the system, when in actuality HE WAS THE SYSTEM. Maybe he started out rogue, but he turned into a jealous, paranoid, miser who actually stifled others creativity in order to promote his own.

So in summary: Yes praise Jobs for where he has taken us, but also boo him bc just think where we could be instead of where we are.
