There is a problem with a particular source this morning. Signs point to it being Zodttd’s repo sending data that Cydia has a problem with. This causes Cydia to go into a crashing loop.

You should NOT need to restore your firmware to fix this problem. Please have patience, a fix is being worked on. If the coming solutions do not help there is still the possibility that a restore may be needed.
Update #1: Some good advice and instructions in the comments below. You can also try the FIXES AND SUGGESTIONS HERE, as the problem is the same as it was then. You must remove the zodttd source list that is causing the problem.

Update #2: A quick fix for some (works only if you have apt7 installed)

• Log-in as root using MobileTerminal or SSH and run this command:
• apt-get update
• This will update your lists and then Cydia should work.

GeoHot has been working around the clock on this unlock and I must say has made the fastest progress I have ever seen on an unlock. Of course Geohot is a workaholic so when he says something is going to get done he doesn’t stop until he’s finished as you can see from the video above it took him 2 days i believe to get a working unlock on the new 05.11.07 baseband. iHateSn0w is currently working on another update to his iReb Program that allows people to save their 3.1 ecid signature so that they downgrade back to 3.1 when Apple releases another firmware update.

Note: I just realized you have to be on firmware 3.1 to get the update. If you don’t see the update to carrier settings, click on check for updates in itunes and it will ask you to update your carrier settings. Now for everyone that is staying on firmware 3.0.1 I believe I have a workaround to this.

iH8sn0w has released a new update for iREB a new program for Windows and Mac that can solve the mistakes “16xx” and “21″ from iTunes that are displayed after a reset or a firmware downgrade.

The application is only compatible with EDGE iPhone, iPhone 3G and iPod Touch 1G and can be downloaded from here.

When you will be presented such an error will not have to do is start and follow the instructions on the screen. I recommend you download it and keep it somewhere in your computer .. It can come in useful!

Update 2: A Sky News employee has told us they were told to cut the story out immediately and not to comment.  Directive came “from the very top”.  Here’s a Google Cache of the story if there are any unbelievers…This is getting interesting!

Update 3: Google’s News cache is gone but it is still in the general cache.  Kinda Twilight Zone at this point.  In the other corner we have EMI’s chief saying it ain’t going down… “tomorrow”.  Shouldn’t Sky News be issuing a retraction – or something at this point?  Isn’t that what normal News news orgs do if they run a story and then pull it?  This is very very weird.
