Video: Valeo Park4U Remotely Parks Your Volkswagon With Your iPhone

Technology these days, sheesh.. Can we get any lazier? Brought to us by Auto-Parts and equipment supplier Valeo, this new automatic parking system uses nothing but sensors and automatically parks your car in reverse for you.

While only equipped with the ability to accelerate and brake the system does a fairly nice job parking the car, check the video below:

9to5Mac reports:

Equipped with only the ability to brake and accelerate, CNET explains a “Valeo representative stood outside the car, a Volkswagen Sharan, and parked it merely by using an iPhone app.” We dug up the video above posted by Valeo that shows the iPhone app in action towards the end.

The user doesn’t actually control steering in this case, that’s where the Park4U’s several sensors come in allowing for parallel parking with as little as 22 inches of clearance.

The Park4U technology is already deployed by a number of manufacturers including Ford, Audi, Volkswagen, and Lincoln, although we’re not sure when the iPhone app and remote parking capability will be hitting the market. Current versions automate parking while the driver remains in the vehicle.
