Although it is hard to say, but the cydia store first app has been cracked. I Would recommend to try this and if you do to buy it because jay freeman gave us cydia, he is BOSS

put the downloaded fies in root/library/mobilsubstrate/dynamiclibraries/ and set the file permissions to 777

I tried this and nothing changed in my contacts. Maybe I misunderstand but does this not apply to the “Contacts” section on stock Phone application? Or will it only show up in 3rd party apps?

After you put the files in the right area, make sure you change the cyntacts.dylib permissions to 777 and respring. You should see a box on the left side of your contacts with a photo of your contact if you have one assigned, if you don’t it will just show a blank box

I have no idea why, but it refuses to work for me. I dont have to enable it somewhere do I? I have tried twice now with those downloaded files. I just deleted them, reinstalled them again and it still does not work. I have changed permissions both times too.
I have pictures for most of my contacts and they are not showing up, nor are any boxes at all. Too bad, was really looking forward to trying it out.

I see. I will look into it but I have other people such as friends that have tried it and it works just fine. Are you sure that both files are in library/mobilesubstrate/dynamiclibraries/ and then your setting the .dylib file to 777 the plist doesn’t matter but after that you should just hard reboot hold down the power and home button for 10 secs to see if that works.

Maybe I am missing something here but from what I can tell I have done everything correctly? I have tried a respring and a reboot. Here is a picture of what I have done:

Worked flawlessly for me. However, I thought that you would be able to sync Facebook profile pictures with it from the phone but it appears you actually can’t…so for now I have deleted it out of respect, but I would definitely have bought this if it had the ability to sync the pictures from the phone/Cyntact app itself.

To Andrew yes that is the correct place but I also see that you have a lot of other apps that use mobile substrate and some how i am pretty positive that one of those is causing a conflict with the program. On my phone I have about 5 dylibs including cyntacts so I don’t know maybe it is a conflict with other apps.

Well I have an update. I was about to make a call and was scrolling through my contacts when suddenly the boxes just appeared. After that I tried Cydia and it refused to work. Crashed immediately upon opening it. So I have deleted cyntact and it works fine again. Turns out after all this I didn’t end up liking the look of it anyways. Oh well. Thanks for the help.
To LT: Look for “Friendsync” on appulo.us. It allows you to sync with facebook.

I did the crack and it is cool. But i have to say that the Contact flow is a lot better and it is free. I honer Jay freeman for putting up something small to try with first instead of selling one of his other free apps like Cycorder.

Would anyone have the updated Cyntact 1.1-1? It preloads the pictures and works faster apparently.
