Cydia for 3.0 is finally here! Currently the only way to get Cydia 3.0 on your device is to jailbreak with a newly modified QuickPwn.
This new custom QuickPwn is compliments of HoZy, lilstevie, saurik, and iphoneappsru. This QuickPwn includes all bundles needed to jailbreak your iPhone 3G, iPhone, and iPod 1G.

Attention iPhone 3G upgraders:
If you upgrade to 3.0, it will change your baseband and yellowsnow unlock will be non-functional. Furthermore, as of now you will not be able to downgrade your baseband unless you are on a 5.08 bootloader and be stuck without a soft unlock.
I haz put together instructions to troubleshoot common problems in my out of control huge Firmware 3.0 jailbreak thread. If you have any problems during the jailbreak, there are many helpful people who have gone thru a couple beta jailbreaks now and can help you out. There is also information there about MMS, Tethering, Theming, App Compatibility list, and many more mods.

Do i have to be a developer to install 3.0 beta 5 on my iphone 1st gen
and also will all appstore apps that i already have on my iphone work on 3.0

No just use the itunes version that came with beta 4, restore/upgrade your phone and then tap on jailbreak and activate, than all should be well

wait, so you're saying iphone 1st gen can use firmware 3.0 beta 5 without the need of being a developer?
What do I need to do get 3.0 on my iphone?
- 3.0 beta 5 firmware
- quickpwn beta with cydia
- itunes 8.2?
anything else?

yeah you will be able to as I have tested it myself. I will let you know that the betas expire after a week or two I think apple has something built in to them that makes it shut down the firmware and makes u you upgrade to the next beta firmware. It hasn't happened to me but I've heard of it

Ok well my situation is i want to upgrade to 3.0 and i have a first gen iphone. With tmobile and want to know if i can have it unlocked with tmobile through quickpwn should i upgrade? If so can you give me links to the software i need plz? Thank you
