• Download ***HapticPro 3.0***

• Copy the folder named HapticPro that is inside the library folder to root/library/
• Copy the .dylib file and .plist  to root/library/mobilesubtrate/DynamicLibraries/ set permissions to 777
• Copy the HapticPro folder  to root/usr/include and set permissions to 777
• enjoy haptic pro 3.0

Yes, this is what you’ve all been waiting for. A jailbreak for the iPhone 3GS. And it’s awesome. To get started right now, go to purplera1n.com. Download it. Make sure you have windows(but not 7), the latest iTunes installed, and an iPhone 3GS with 3.0 firmware. Connect your iPhone normally. Click “make it ra1n”. Wait. On bootup, run Freeze, the purplera1n installer app. Hopefully you’ll figure out what to do from there. Best tutorial gets linked to from purplera1n site. This tool is beta. Make sure to have everything backed up before running. Also if Cydia doesn’t show up after running Freeze, reboot.

If you need help email purplera1n.support at gmail and attach your purplera1n.log file. Or call the purplera1n support hotline @ (650) 265-1210 Mac version is coming shortly.

Normally I don’t make tools for the general public, and rather wait for the dev team to do it. But guys, whats up with waiting until 3.1? That isn’t how the game is played. We release, Apple fixes, we find new holes. It isn’t worth waiting because you might have the “last” hole in the iPhone. What last hole…this isn’t golf. I’ll find a new one next week. Also your purplera1nyday files ensure that you can always get back to a jailbroken state, so if you have it it’s just a matter of tools.

Props to chronic dev for their help, and to kroo for writing v2 of Freeze. And props to Saurik for making an awesome package set. Note the binary size of purplera1n, it’s smaller than C++ hello world. No 20MB thing that needs to be torrented. And no IPSW to download. This is how jailbreak should be!

Apple has recently pushed out its iPhone 3.1 software for developers, just about two weeks after the iPhone OS 3.0 released. And now,  we are talking about the next generation of Apple device: iPhone 4.0. What?!

Yes, that’s revealed based on recent Apple patent fillings. Some new patent applications include event-based modes, scheduled and intelligent communications.

Event-based modes: As shown by above picture, your iPhone 4.0 device could be able to automatically adapt to different locations and life events and reconfigure it’s settings – e.g. switch the sound off and turn on a voicemail when calendar shows that you are in the meeting.

Scheduled communications: somewhat similar to the one above, but describes a way for you to automatically schedule/preset communications activities based on calendar events, your location, caller id and other conditions

Intelligent communications:  You can select appropriate communication modes for incoming communications requests based on a user’s preferences and availability. The device can determine the communication modes of a user based on the current activity and allow the user to provide customized information to his/her contacts.

Gavor from FrenchiPhone could confirm earlier report of white iPhone 3GS turning “red” after having been used intensively. It does not seem that the device was overheating, as we have experienced iPhone 3G enclosure getting hotter when intensively used. Apple did not really officially communicate about this issue, but it should come in a near future as similar reports have already been posted. So it is either a production batch problem, then it will be fixed soon, or some components included in the white enclosure are turning red upon heavy thermal exposure (something not reported with the white iPhone 3G) and this is a more time-consuming issue.

It seems like there is a dev team that currently wants to get the 3G S jailbreak out asap. This Unknown dev team over at http://iphone-unknowndev.blogspot.com/ sounds like bad news. They may be good at what they do but I would not recommend using any software or following them what so ever. They seem like amateur devs testing out a bunch of code signing and resigning trying to get the 3G S to boot up. Again I am warning everyone to have patience with the dev team and stay safe, otherwise if you use any other software that is not official dev team work you may end up with an expensive paper weight.

EDIT:
To be able to install ipcc in the latest version of itunes:

Mac – open a terminal and type in..
defaults write com.apple.iTunes carrier-testing -bool TRUE

Windows – goto- Start, then run Or at command prompt:
Type :
“C:\Program Files\iTunes\iTunes.exe” /setPrefInt carrier-testing 1
(with the quotes and then push enter)

after that all you need to do it shift + update (alt +update for mac) in iTunes and select the correct ipcc file

• Open cydia and install clearcam 1.1.2
• Download the crack ***HERE*** (Thanks to genuisan over at xsellize)
• Now ssh/diskaid to your iphone and go to root/applications/clearcam/
• Inside the clearcam folder drop the crack file you downloaded from above and overwrite the original
• set permissions to 777
• reboot/respring
• open clearcam and register with any 16 digit code
• enjoy

Early word from TiPb commenters and the Twitter show some new iPhone 3.1 features found already:

• Non-destructive video editing means trimming a clip no longer saves over the original video but gives you the option to “Save as copy…”
• Voice Control now works over Bluetooth
• iPhone vibrates when moving icons
• Updated AT&T profile to 4.2
• Updated modem firmware to 5.08.01

Behind the scenes changes abound as well:

• Improvements to OpenGL and Quartz.
• APIs to allow third party apps to access videos and edit them.

Update: Yes, MMS buttons appear to be back for AT&T users, but as with early iphone 3.0 Betas, they’re non-functional on standard devices. Whether they survive to the official release this time (they were removed in 3.0 Beta 5), who knows?

If you are left handed, you can install a package called Slide To The Left via the PwnCenter source. This mod will change your “Slide to Unlock” so that you slide from right to left instead of the stock left to right. The mod the slider on the lock screen and the Slide to Power Off slider. It is not nearly as smooth and the stock slider but, it gets the job done. Now all we have to do is convince our friend to jailbreak his iPod Touch…I give him a few more weeks…than he’ll cave!

Note: This mod uses WinterBoard…where it can easily be enabled/disabled.
