Hi,
I see this on so many instructions but luckily have not had to deal with it yet, but i assume i will in the future. So how do you set permissions for these files? I don't use SSh but i use iphonebrowser which is the same thing. But i don't know how to set permissions or even what they do. Please reply. TIA

permissions make an app run. sometimes your app might just crash for no good reason. if it does go to it with iphone browser and right click the app folder and select "properties" once there you'll see the permissions screen. just enter "755" and your done.

I would love this programme but when i look at instructions it looks difficult. For a start it says replace file in such a such of folder, but you dont say with what how and with what do i replace the iblacklist file. Also i dont use SSH i assume its a kind of download app of sorts,am i right?I like the previous guy don't know what permission are so how do i change them? The Instructions above for this app are written for someone who already knows how not someone who doesnt know how.Could it be simplified? Im not stupid and I know my way round a PC but is written in a way that is hard to understand
Thanks for anyone who can help

When i right click on a folder in iphonebrowser the only choices are:
New folder
Backup folder
Save folder in
rename folder
Delete folder
There is no option for permissions. Am i missing something? What?
Thanks,
To the mod: I tried a direct reply but when i hit submit comment, nothing happened.

first you both need to use ssh
i use winscp and iphone tunnel suite
when you nav to the folder right click and select properties and use 755.
this .deb file wasnt so great. it kept crashing. i ended up adding another repo and d/l'ing it directly and it now works. as for the repo, you're gonna have to do some searching cause i'm not going to name it in such a public forum. hint: part of it's name is listed within this thread
use google. it WILL help you out.
there are many good repo's available for cracked JB apps.

Sumpunk,
I am now using winscp and ssh. Do you mean in properties where it says octal i should put in 755?
I can't put anything in Group or owner box as they are grayed out. and owner group and owners boxes all have x's on them in the R W and X. I am having this problem with other apps and programs as well. Did i do something wrong on my SSHing or winscping?

Yea just click on all of the boxes until you see 755 or 777 and all should work
August 12th, 2009 at 9:16 pm
so are 755 and 777 the same thing or similar enough that it doesn't matter?
Why are the group and owner boxes grayed out, and i can't type anything in?
Thanks,

does this work with the current 3.1-3 version?
