Thanks to M@$TeR M@Rk over at xsellize for the upload.

PhotoShare Web allows you to upload your Camera Roll photos, and other items in your Photo Libraries, directly to web services such as ImageShack, Flickr, and Twitpic. Its integration with the built-in Photos and Camera application allows for a seamless photo experience, rivaled by none.

Download PhotoShare Web.deb HERE

  • Rename the downloaded deb to pshare.deb or whatever you like
  • Copy the deb file to var/mobile on your iPhone
  • Open up mobile terminal and do the following
  • Type in su (press return)
  • Type in alpine (press return)
  • Type in dpkg -i pshare.deb (press return)

If you guys like this app, buy it. PhotoShare is integrated with your photos app so it doesn’t take up room on your springboard making it look messy.

Saurik Releases PrivaCy App Which Blocks Spying Apps

August 21, 2009 :: Posted by - SoSly :: Category - News

Saurik has announced PrivaCy, a new iPhone app which blocks iPhone apps from watching you.

The application was created to address concerns about App Store applications which track usage information and even location information for developers to analyze. You can read Saurik’s explaination below…

—–
It has recently come to the attention of angry Cydia users that they are being watched by many of the applications they have installed from the App Store.

Sites like I-phone-home have been discussing this in detail, leading to a post on the Dev-Team Blog about one provider in particular: Pinch Media.

Pinch Media, however, is not the only tracking provider: on the iPhone alone there are three other companies: Flurry, Medialets, and Mobclix.

Gan$tar West Coast Hustle Released In Appstore

Download Cracked Ipa At HERE

Gameloft just released their much anticipated Gangstar [link] game to the App Store today at the promised $6.99 price.

Gangstar, which is an enhanced port of their 2006 mobile handset title, is set in an expansive world (Los Angeles) that strives to bring the modern, 3D home console Grand Theft Auto experience to iPhone gamers. We took a detailed look at a preview copy of the title back in July.

The game is a free-roam sandbox affair, with LA being the sandbox. And the game world is actually modeled after LA with some accuracy. Hollywood, Santa Monica, South Central, and other well-known areas of the city are represented with many distinguishing characteristics in place. Portions of the game are also played through sequences that are flashbacks to Pedro’s time in the Mexican pen.

Apple Patents in-call iPhone file transfer feature

August 21, 2009 :: Posted by - SoSly :: Category - News

Apple has explored the ability to transfer a file from one cell phone to another during a connected call, according to a new patent filing revealed this week.

Similar to an application revealed in June, the new filing includes descriptions for sending text messages, e-mails, contacts, documents and more to a caller while two phones have established a voice connection. Entitled “Auto Messaging to Currently Connected Caller,” the 16-page patent application was filed for in February of 2008.

“While a user of a mobile device is using telephony services, the user may want to send a message or a file to another part,” the patent reads. “To send this information, the user may have to disconnect the call, and then perform a lookup of the caller’s contact information prior to being able to send the message or file. This multi-step process can be tedious for the user.”

Apple’s possible solution would offer a user interface that would provide users voice and message capability access while on a call. The system would automatically detect caller details and relay the information in the appropriate direction. The document even describes a scenario with a conference call and multiple listeners, where files could be sent to any or all included Read more…

iPhone 3GS Supports 720p, 1080p Video Playback?

August 21, 2009 :: Posted by - SoSly :: Category - News

WeiPhone is reporting that the iPhone 3GS is capable of playing back both 720p and 1080p video encoded in H.264 through the built in player.

iLounge notes that Apple may be putting arbitrary limits on video playback to save battery life keep things consistant with previous iPhones.

Using the free document storage and viewing application FileAid, forum member fridtear was able to circumvent Apple’s video restrictions, smoothly playing back files up to 30 Mbps in 1980×1080 resolution via the iPhone 3GS’ built-in video player.

Its possible that Apple may be saving this feature for a supposed firmware upgrade or possibly even for the next iPhone HD.

News of this capability was rumored in April along with a new Apple AV Cable to allow for both component and composite on the same cable.

iPhone Police Scanner App Spies On User

August 20, 2009 :: Posted by - SoSly :: Category - News

Police Scanner, an application for the iPhone, uses analytic software from Pinch Media that tracks personal information and sends it to various parties without your consent.

According to ReadWrite Web, the information that’s gathered and linked is:

* iPhone’s unique ID
* iPhone Model
* OS Version
* Application version (in this case, camera zoom 1.x)
* If the application is cracked/pirated
* If your iPhone is jailbroken
* Time & date you start the application
* Time & date you close the application
* Your current latitude & longitude
* Your gender (if Facebook enabled)
* Your birth month (if Facebook enabled)
* Your birth year (if Facebook enabled)

What’s worse is that you’re often never told that the app will be performing this level of detailed tracking and you’re often never given the opportunity to opt-out. The data recorded is continuously tracked every time you use the application. This violation of user privacy is so egregious that the developer even goes so far as to call Pinch Media “iPhone spyware.”

The ReadWriteWeb story, linked from The New York Times, is here:

Dear iPhone Users – Your Apps Are Spying on You – NYTimes.com

The list of apps that use Pinch Media analytics is here:

TextBin – Store your text online!

Here is what Police Scanner is said to report:

# Police Scanner – pinchmedia enabled, multiple, serious data leaks, sends ID’s, pirated/jailbreak info and lat & long to multiple 3rd parties

Apple Digging into Accounts of iPhone Explosions in Europe

August 19, 2009 :: Posted by - SoSly :: Category - News

Reuters reports that recent accounts of exploding iPhones in Europe have prompted Apple to investigate the incidents. According to a spokesperson of the European Commission, these occurrences have been deemed to be “isolated” incidents by Apple at this time. Apple is working on gathering additional information to find out what may have caused them.

One of the more notable incidents in recent news involved a French teenager who received an eye injury when the screen of an iPhone he was holding shattered, sending a piece of glass into his eye. He described that the iPhone had made a “hissing sound” before the screen shattered on its own.

A spokesperson for Apple Europe Ltd is quoted as saying “We are aware of these (media) reports and we are waiting to receive the iPhones from the customers. Until we have the full details, we don’t have anything further to add.”
