A few days ago, Apple released the firmware update to version 3.1 to 3.1.1 for iPhone 3G and iPod Touch. Playing with the new version of software, some users have just noticed that the iPod Touch and the iPhone 3G (without jailbreak) integrate all the functions of video-editing, exactly like the iPhone 3GS!

From what I have been reading and kinda put together is that the new iPod Touch was suppose to have a camera, but do to the hardware issue rumors that have been floating around, they took out the camera sometime last month. That is why video editing is in the firmware. Also have heard that they are still gonna release the iPod Touch with a camera sometime in the near future. As for the 3G, it’s great to have since we already have video recording thanks to jailbreak. Maybe apple will issue a video recorder update sometime in the future. Doubtful, but I’ll keep my fingers crossed
