Udidfaker1 Udid faker

Finally a faker for us users who are  paranoid about giving our sensitive iphone data out to people. With the udid faker you can fake your udid. UDID stands for Unique Data Item Description and is used mainly by appstore apps to see who is using the app and to tell if your udid is using a cracked app or not, even cydia apps use it for registration so if an app is registered by udid you can ask a friend who bought a copy to give you his udid so that you can use it too. Thanks to Aulter and Reilly for this one. Below is the download and what they had to say about this: Read more…

Zune Hd vs New iPod Touch: Let The Battle Begin

September 17, 2009 :: Posted by - SoSly :: Category - News

Our equal and opposite, Phil Nickinson over at WMExperts, has just provided the equal and opposite to our just-posted iPod touch G3 hardware review — a hands-on with the Microsoft Zune HD.

t’s my first foray into the Zune ecosystem, so I have a bit of a learning curve, and bear with me. But without giving away the farm, I’ll say this: If this is the direction in which Windows Mobile is moving, we all have much to look forward to.

Part 1 covers the desktop software, Quickplay (think genius), the apps, Zune marketplace, what’s in the box, the hardware, the screen, and teases Part 2 (of course).

Check out the battle HERE, then remember to join us for iPhone Live! tonight, as Phil will be our special guest, and we’ll take the Zune HD one on one with the great one — the iPod touch.

New Dual-Core Cortex-A9 Processor In The Next Gen iPhone???

September 16, 2009 :: Posted by - SoSly :: Category - News

This is an iPhone mockup NOT REAL OR ANY SPECULATION

Chip design firm ARM today announced the development of two dual-core chip designs based on the company’s Cortex-A9 platform. Implementations of the new chip designs, which will deliver performance in excess of 2 GHz while drawing less than 0.25 W of power per CPU, will be available in the fourth quarter of this year.

The Cortex-A9 speed-optimized hard macro implementation will provide system designers with an industry standard ARM processor incorporating aggressive low-power techniques to further extend ARM’s performance leadership into high-margin consumer and enterprise devices within the power envelope necessary for compact, high-density and thermally constrained environments. This hard macro implementation operates in excess of 2GHz when selected from typical silicon and represents an ideal solution for high-margin performance-oriented applications.

ARM is positioning the chip design for use in such consumer electronics devices as set-top boxes, digital TVs, and printers, although it has been claimed in the past that the chips would be appropriate for mobile platforms and would appear in those devices in 2010.

The iPhone 3GS utilizes a Cortex-A8-based processor from Samsung, suggesting that the Cortex-A9 could be a natural fit for the next-generation iPhone, although the thermally-constrained environment and energy requirements of the iPhone would likely dictate that the chip be underclocked as has been done for several iPhone and iPod touch models.

Apple, which acquired ARM chip design firm P.A. Semi in April 2008, has been rumored to be working on its own ARM-based chip designs for both the iPhone and the much-anticipated Apple tablet, and the introduction of dual-core Cortex-A9 processors would offer the company additional computing power and energy-saving options upon which to base its device designs.

iTwinge Adds a Physical Keyboard to your iPhone

September 16, 2009 :: Posted by - SoSly :: Category - News

the oddly named iTwinge, an iPhone sleeve that does the trick in the simplest of fashions: it merely covers the software keys with real, physical ones. Cool, one might think for a split second: I can finally type without looking! However, a closer inspection of iTwinge reveals a number of problems.

First of all, it makes your iPhone a lot fatter than such a sexy gadget should be. Furthermore, iPhone’s keyboard has some advantages over physical keyboards: it adapts to different situations (for example, the “.com” key is only there when you need it), it gives you a choice of typing some alternative symbols if you press and hold a key, etc. None of those will really translate well to iTwinge. Not to mention the fact that it won’t work particularly well when you flip the iPhone over to its side.

Still, it might be useful in certain situations. For example, if you must write a blog post or a long email, and the only device you have at your disposal is the iPhone, iTwinge might come in handy. According to the manufacturer, “an average user will improve their speed by 30% to 40% and simultaneously reduce typing errors by 70 – 80%”.

If you’re interested, bear in mind that it must be plugged into the iPhone, and it uses some of its power, but luckily it doesn’t require any software. It works with the iPhone 3G and 3GS and you can get it for the price of $29.99.
