GeoHot has been working around the clock on this unlock and I must say has made the fastest progress I have ever seen on an unlock. Of course Geohot is a workaholic so when he says something is going to get done he doesn’t stop until he’s finished as you can see from the video above it took him 2 days i believe to get a working unlock on the new 05.11.07 baseband. To clear things up yes this will work with the iphone 3G and 3GS check out what was tweeted earlier

Scottyatur is said to have an iPhone unlock for the latest apple firmware. He is a new dev we have never heard of but he has posted a video of his exploit running on an iPhone. You can check out his twitter HERE, it seems he has been in contact with geohot and ih8sn0w the well known devs also working on an exploit. In just a few days the Motorola Droid will hit the market. Verizon has been marketing the phone for a few weeks now and launched several ads attacking the iPhone

. The Droid is supposed to be the iPhone killer. But we’ve heard that before. So Engadget made a video showing the browser speeds of both phones.

The iPhone 3GS is still faster, but the Droid can scroll through the page much faster. I don’t like the Droid at all. The iPhone is still the winner and a beautifully designed phone.

Geohot has announced that an unlock dubbed BlackSn0w for the iPhone 05.11.07 baseband is coming soon.

This means that all iPhones will be unlockable; including those that have accidentally or intentionally upgraded to the latest firmware.

Apple Set to Pass 100K Available iPhone Apps Milestone

Apple has approved more than 100,000 applications in its App Store, according to latest figures from App Shopper, an industry tracking firm. That number of approved apps dwarfs the number of apps offered by mobile app store competitors Android Marketplace, Windows Mobile Marketplace, BlackBerry App World, and Nokia’s Ovi Store. Apple’s next closest competitor, Google’s Android Marketplace, offers a relative pittance of 10,000 mobile apps, according to App Shopper. BlackBerry App World hosts 3040 apps.

App Shopper released data Tuesday stating that Apple has approved 101,887 apps, with 93,118 actually available to download or purchase as of October 28. Apple is expected to announce the milestone officially when the actual number of applications available in the store reaches 100,000.
