Plenty of new action games are out there for the casual and hardcore gaming crowds, including a hack ‘n’ slash, a pirate game, and a 3D space shooter. Among the mix is also an odd type of game that involves playing with nattou, a sticky, Japanese food made from fermented soybeans. Very unusual, indeed. Below is a list of a few of them.

Anger of Stick ($.99) – In a mixture of beautiful graphics and red and green stick-like figures, the main character arms himself with an AK-47, a 90mm gun, an iron hammer, and a long sword and seeks revenge.

B.I.T.S. ($.99) – This pinball simulator has four modes that make this game anything but a typical pinball simulator. The modes include B.I.T.S. mode, where players must destroy all of the B.I.T.S. on a level, Ball Cloner, where players can clone the pinball as many times as possible within 60 seconds, Power Ups, where players can obtain power ups, and Multi-ball Mayhem, where a new ball will spawn every second for 20 seconds.

iNattou ($1.99) – Based on the Japanese food nattou, a food made from fermented soy beans, players have to play with this sticky food through a few different mini-games, including a memory game and a time trial.

iPlutoid ($.99) – This 3D shooter takes place in the orbit of the former planet known as Pluto. Players must defend the planetary reject from invading aliens all while remaining in the orbit. The game features flat-shaded polygon graphics that look quite a bit like they’re from Katamari Damacy.

iYBGame ($.99) – This is a modified version of the traditional Korean board game, Yutnori. Players are stranded on a deserted island and must try to escape by rolling the dice and moving all the checkers to the end goal.

Matches ($.99) – The goal of the game is to guess the total number of matches in all four players’ hands. The player who guesses correctly can remove a match. The first one to remove all the matches wins the game.

NFL Rush Zone ($1.99) – This game has “NFL” in the title, which signifies that it’s about professional football, yet the first half of the game is about getting out of detention to make the big game. Then once players make it to the game, they have to try to score as many touchdowns as possible by playing in a rugby-like fashion. Very, very strange football game, indeed.

Pirate Waters ($.99) – Like any other pirate game, players must sail their ship, collect treasures and fight off evil pirates. This one does have some rather pretty graphics, though.
