Apple has approved the Opera Mini for the iPhone, causing a collective gasp of shock around the Internet. Opera announced the approval this evening, saying that the free app will be available within the next 24 hours. UK and Australian readers are reporting to Engadget that they’re able to download the app already. Want to give it a try? Give this link a shot.
As soon as we’ve tried it we’ll report back. Thanks to everyone who sent this in!

Great and fast..but missing a few features..
- upload files (similar to UC Browser)
- Download manager (similar to Safari Download Manager)
- flash support (like that will ever happen)
Cant wait till app addons from cydia arrive. If developers have the urge to mess around with Opera that is.
Overall Pretty good. I use the 3 browsers for diffrent reasons.
Safari – for downloading
UC Browser – for uploading
Opera – SPEED!!!

Im using Opera right now. Its pretty fast. I also use a browser that is much faster than Opera Mini called Alt Browser from the AppStore. Its pretty nice and i use it all the time. I only use Safari when i need to download something. Or when it opens up on its own as there is no way to set a default browser on the iphone.

@Cokey Hey how do you use UC Browser for uploading? I installed it but it looks like it is an Asian specific browser with no support for English in it’s interface. Thanks in advance.

To get English UC Browser on your idevice..
Add theiphonespotrepo.net/apt to Cydia.
Search UC Browser..install
To upload files…
Ssh or use iFile to put the file you want to upload into the Documents folder on idevice. Nxt go to a webpage with the upload button. Click..and it should navigate to your Documents folder. Select the file you want to upload. Enjoy!
No prob!!

@Cokey Hey thanks for the info. I already have this repo installed in Cydia but the UC Browser wasn’t on Sosly’s repo rather it was on beyouriphone’s repo. So I installed it. But the problem is any site I go to which has an option to upload, the little button (whether it’s Upload, Attach file, Browse, etc) is still greyed out so the upload option still doesn’t work for me. Any ideas? Thanks again.
