A new survey has found that women are more likely to give out their phone number to men who have iPhones.
CultofMac reports that a Phones4U survey of 1,500 women found that 54% of them would be more likely to give their digits and date an iPhone owner than a non-iPhone owner and 37% said that owning an iPhone makes a man seem more reliable. Read more…

Virginia Campbell, a 99-year-old woman from Lake Oswego, has finally bought her first computer — an Apple iPad. “It’s changed her life,” one of her daughters told OregonLive.com. Virginia has been an avid reader most of her life, but she suffers from glaucoma, making reading increasingly difficult.
Because of the iPad’s ability to adjust the brightness of the page and to increase the font by simply tapping, Virginia has been able to take up her beloved past-time again. The general look and feel of the prototype iPhone recently discovered and disassembled will likely be very similar to the final shipping product of the next-generation handset Apple will release this summer.
Citing sources familiar with Apple’s fourth-generation iPhone, Daring Fireball’s John Gruber revealed that the barcode affixed to the prototype device obtained by Gizmodo, which read “N90_DVT-GE4X_0493,” gives insight into how far along Apple is in the design of its next-generation phone. Some will cheer, others will groan, but it seems that the love-it-or-hate-it Facebook game, FarmVille, is on its way to iPhone and iPad. A recent search of domains has uncovered both farmvilleiphone.com and farmvilleipad.com, both reserved by the same company currently overseeing Zynga’s official FarmVille website. This means that sooner or later, we’ll probably be seeing official clients for Apple’s mobile devices. Read more…

Apple has posted a support document targeting iPhone jailbreaking, noting that “unauthorized modification of iPhone OS has been a major source of instability, disruption of services, and other issues,” including compromised security.
The article addresses “adverse issues experienced by customers who have made unauthorized modifications to the iPhone OS (this hacking process is often called ‘jailbreaking’).” Read more…
