ATT Hints at June 21st Availability for iPhone 4G

AT&T has begun changing its upgrade eligibility dates for some iPhone customers to June 21st, according to a MobileCrunch report.
This morning they received a report from a reader:
“Not sure if anyone [..] has noticed this same thing, but my Upgrade Eligibility date on my AT&T account switched from 11/21 to 6/21 in the last day or so. I bought a 3GS on launch day last year, and my upgrade date read 11/21 since then. A few other folks in my office have noticed the same changes happening to their accounts as well.”
It’s unclear if this is an unintentional leak or if AT&T is slowly rolling out the changes across their database.
Apple is widely expected to announce and possibly ship the iPhone in June. The company announced previous models at WWDC; although, a rumor earlier this month suggested that Apple has booked June 22nd at the Yerba Buena Center for Arts by the Moscone Center in San Francisco

Well I checked mine and I’m still at 11/21… I too bought the 3GS on release date. Maybe later? If I become eligible on 6/21 I’m for sure buying it!

mine switched to 6.21 upgrade as well. i preordered the 3GS (with 2 year contract) last june so i wondered why i was eligible. after further investigation, i found out that i am a “high-end” user with 2 lines (both with iphone data plans) so my main line is available for an upgrade EVERY year regardless of the 2 year contract that i sign.

Optimus very astute observation that makes sense lets get that out to the public so they know.. This could all be coincidence with no iphone coming that day.. We’ll have to wait and see I guess.

how did you find out that you are a ‘high end’ user? i too have 2 lines, both iphones with data plans and my upgrade date did not change, yet.

Mine still says upgrade date of 11/12/2010. I purchased my iphone 3gs near the end of last year. So I doubt mine was supposed to be switched anyway. Would be nice though.
