AT&T Sold Out of iPhone 4 Pre-orders

BGR’s reporting that AT&T’s launch day allocation of iPhone 4s is now sold out, and anyone who got in the door after 1:30PM Pacific Time will get their unit some time between June 25 and July 5. Frankly, we have no idea how anyone managed to get a pre-order in, let alone enough to sell out — but everyone who did deserves a pat on the back and a high-five.
Update: We’ve gotten the official statement from AT&T, and it’s true, though you still might be able to waltz in on launch day without a pre-order and pick up one of the unallocated units:
“Because of the incredible interest in iPhone 4, today was the busiest online sales day in AT&T history. As of Tuesday afternoon, customers who preorder iPhone 4 moving forward will receive their device on June 25 or later, depending on when the order is placed. We’ll email customers with confirmation once their order is placed, and again when it ships. In addition, we will have devices available on a first-come, first-serve basis in our stores beginning on June 24.”

I sure hope it was after 1:30, I got my confirmation email at 1:12, said that all orders would be fulfilled on the 24th, but has no shipping date information….I really hope this is true, otherwise I’d rather just cancel and take my chances at picking it up in store.

Yeah i ordered mine successfully through the apple store and im still reading that it gets to me the 24th I hope they keep it that way.

Took me 7 hours to get through on the online apple store. But I finally got my preorder through. And confirmation email which is saying Ships and delivers on June 24th to my work address.
Booe everything is accurate. Last year with the 3GS there was never any actual shipping info. I was going nuts trying to track it and AT&T was no help as they couldn’t find the tracking info. And Fed Ex was even worse. My 3GS was delivered on schedule though. To this day I still cNt understand why there was no shipping or tracking info or what buffonery took place to make it that way. I’m hoping this go round won’t be a repast of last year fUse that was mildly stressful lol.

I just walked into best buy and took me 2 min to pre order mine so i feel so bad that lot of people had to wait over few hrs to get their order in

The iphone 4 is very very nice! I am planning to get myself 1! However according to the news the 1st batch preorder is sold out… how sad!
What do you think about this latest iphone 4?

It looks like this was 1:30 pst, so I’m completely safe…as I ordered at 1:10 est!
