Jailbreakers and Unlockers Save Your ShSh’s Asap
July 14, 2010 :: Posted by - SoSly :: Category - News

Now that Apple has released the 4.1 iOS beta you should all know to back up our shsh’s locally and on sauriks server by using a program called TinyUmbrella. Saving your shsh’s is a back up plan just in case you upgrade to Apple’s latest firmware that isn’t jailbreakable, the shsh’s allow you to sign your own firmware and downgrade to a jailbreakable firmware. Lets not get too complicated just do the following:
- Visit: http://thefirmwareumbrella.blogspot.com/
- On the right you’ll see quick links
- Download the program for your OS
- Have your i-device connected, run program and click save my shsh
- To be more cautious click advanced options and by location choose Apple and save shsh locally, now you have two backups
- Now chill out and go on about your day.

Forgive me for being naive, but what exactly does this do? How does it affect an unjailbroken iPhone 4?

It doesn’t really affect your unjailbroken iphone 4 but if dev team releases a jailbreak for 4.0 and apple patches that whole with 4.1 and you don’t have your shsh stored, you can’t downgrade back to the jailbreakable 4.0 firmware if you dont have your shsh’s stored.. you would then be stuck on firmware 4.1 waiting for a jailbreak all over again.
