Use iPhone 4 data plan with iPad 3G

July 09, 2010 :: Posted by - SoSly :: Category - News

I love my iPad 3G, almost unnecessarily so. I use it as my primary computer for a multitude of tasks. The only thing that I dislike about my iPad is that I have to pay AT&T even more money to use their data network, even though I’m already paying for it with my new iPhone 4.

We have covered in the past how to manage your 3G data with your iPad using the Apple/AT&T-sanctioned methods built in to the device itself. Today, we want to show you how you can swap Micro-SIMs to make use of your iPhone’s unlimited data plan with your iPad. Read more…

Video: iPhone 4 Drop Test With Bumper

July 09, 2010 :: Posted by - SoSly :: Category - News

After watching this video, i’m beginning to think that my iphone 4 bumper purchase wasn’t much of deal breaker. If you listen closely you can hear the iphone  hitting the ground directly on the glass. I figured that the rubber edges wouldn’t allow the actual iphone to hit the ground but I was wrong. Obviously your not going to go out and drop your iphone on concrete 4 times in a row but even that one accidental drop might do the job and break your iphone, bumper on or not.

iPhone 4 Catches Fire, Slightly Burns Owner

July 08, 2010 :: Posted by - SoSly :: Category - News

An unlucky customer had his new iPhone 4 catch fire while AT&T tried to troubleshoot the device.

It’s the first time our guy has seen this happen (us too), but the brand new iPhone 4 caught on fire while being hooked up to a computer using the Apple USB cable that accompanied the device. The customer wanted to exchange the iPhone — obviously — for a new, non-charred unit however the AT&T store in question was out of stock. An Apple Store did confirm to our AT&T connection that this did appear to be a defective USB port and not some sort of user error.

When it caught on fire the iPhone bezel became extremely hot, slightly burning the customer’s hand. The USB port was slightly melted and the USB cable was badly melted as can be seen. For More Pics Read more…
