Winterboard Updated To Be Somewhat Compatible With iPad

Saurik and  Dustin Howett just update Cydia to v0.9.3182. This updated concerns mainly iPad owners and while not 100%, they made great progress on WinterBoard’s iPad support.I guess people can start making 72px icons for their apps, and optimize their themes….

Orange UK iPad 3G Monthly Data Plans

Wireless carrier Orange U.K. gave the first glimpse at international 3G data plans for Apple’s iPad, with four different pricing options, including a pay-as-you-go price plan.

Users can pay monthly for what they use, at a cost of 5 pence (7 cents U.S.) per megabyte through the Orange plan. Daily plans, offering up to 250MB of use, cost £2 ($2.94), while a weekly plan with 1GB of bandwidth runs £7.50 ($11.01 U.S.).

A recurring monthly plan with 3GB of 3G data and unlimited browsing at Wi-Fi hotspots costs £15 ($22.02 U.S.), while a £25 ($36.71 U.S.) plan offers 10GB of monthly bandwidth. Read more…

Android Successfully Ported To The iPhone 3G

After demonstrating Android running on his iPhone 2G, Planetbeing has succeeded in porting Android OS to the iPhone 3G.

Here is some comments on the progress made to PCWorld.

Nintendo President Dubs iPad and iPhone As ‘Enemy of the Future’

Nintendo president Satoru Iwata has purportedly dubbed Apple’s iPad and iPhone devices to senior executives as the “enemy of the future,” according to the Times Online UK.

His words come at a time when Nintendo is witnessing falling profits, as millions own a DS and a Wii — and an iPhone. Oddly enough, Iwata’s remarks come little more than a month after Nintendo of America president Reggie Fils-Aime told Kotaku “Clearly it doesn’t look like their platform is a viable profit platform for game development because so many of the games are free versus paid downloads.” Read more…

International iBookstores Opening On May 28th

When iPads fall into the eager hands of Apple fans in Australia, Canada, France, Germany, Italy, Japan, Spain, Switzerland and the UK on May 28th, the iBookstore and Apple’s free iBooks e-reader app may be there.

Apple has confirmed that iBooks and the iBookstore will be available in all of the listed countries with the exception of Germany and Switzerland, and we’ll be sure to update this post as soon as we’ve received word that those two countries have been added to the list (we’re starting a rumor here that Apple has to stock up on digital umlauts and eszetts before opening these iBookstores). Whether it be jailbreak support you need, themes, or just some place to chill and kill some time TheiPhoneSpot forums are there for you. Don’t worry about the default theme, I have been modifying a really cool looking theme to go with this blogs colors and logos and I will put the new theme in to use soon after i’m finished working out the kinks.
