There’s a huge world of creative, crafty people on Etsy.com, and we’re always hearing about new Mac or iPhone-related products that have been developed.

The latest, by Etsy shop owner and artist “PlayingGrownUp,” is the cool iPhone Chalkboard (US$25.00 plus shipping), The chalkboard is hand cut and painted to look just like the iPhones that Mom and Dad use. iPad Demand Exceeds Pre-launch iPhone Demand

A new survey suggests pre-launch demand for the iPad is greater than that of the iPhone before it first launched.

AppleInsider reports on a RBC/ChangeWave survey which found that 13 percent of respondants are likely to buy Apple’s forthcoming iPad, a number greater than the 9 percent who planned to buy an iPhone before its launch.

RBC Capital Markets analyst Mike Abramsky said the responses from 3,200 participants show strong pent-up consumer demand for the iPad.

iPhone Power Saving May Be Responsible for Network Issues

iPhone power saving features may be the cause of network overloads rather then its high bandwidth consumption, according to an ArsTechnica report.

Normally devices that access data networks use an idling state that maintains an open data channel between the device and the network.

However, in order to get more battery life, Apple configured the iPhone’s radio to simply drop a connection once it received its requested data. If more data is necessary the iPhone sets up a new connection. Read more…

Illnesses Linked to iPhone Touchscreen Production Facility

Today the world witnessed that the production of touchscreen technology is not only sensitive and important to our way of life, it is often a particularly dangerous endeavor at the factories that produce them.

Chinese news outlets are reporting at this hour that a worker at Wintek (a Chinese-based production facility of touchscreens) has died resulting from complications related to n-hexane exposure or poisoning. Final Fantasy for iPhone Will Be Released Thursday

Final Fantasy and Final Fantasy II will be available on the App Store this Thursday, February 25th, according to a PocketGamer report.

Enhanced graphics and new content top the list of improvements, though the iPhone and iPod touch versions offer new controls by way of the touchscreen.

This will mark the debut of Square Enix’s iconic Final Fantasy franchise on iPhone and iPod touch. Tower defence game Crystal Defenders: Vanguard Storm was inspired by the role-playing series, but is not considered an official installment.

On the list of “I wouldn’t have believed it if I hadn’t seen it with my own eyes” apps, this one takes the cake… and chokes on it.

The free I am choking app could save your life if you are choking on food and can’t speak. If you have your iPhone in hand and can avoid panicking, then you can launch the app, wave your iPhone frantically in front of someone who is nearby, and hope that they can a) read English, and b) follow the instructions in the app to perform the Heimlich Maneuver on you. DevTeam and GeoHot Discussing Exploits For New Baseband

A few weeks ago , we told you that a possible exploit for baseband 5.12.01 was found and unlock might be on its way. And according to a ModMyi thread, we are almost there. In the very near future, baseband 05.12.01 could be unlockable for those of us unfortunate enough to be stuck in this position.

Now it doesn’t necessarily mean 3.1.3 will be worked on, but its good news none the less for those unfortunate users, and for the possibility of a group effort for the next unlock between GeoHot and the DevTeam. Discussed in an IRC channel, GeoHot and the DevTeam’s MuscleNerd, share some thoughts on the exploits they have found, and by the looks of things, might actually team up to dish out an ultimate serving of Jailbreaking goodness.
