Sprint Features iPhone In 4G Tv Ad

Sprint has released an ad that features the iPhone with its Overdrive 3G/4G Hotspot mobile router. The Overdrive allows you to use Sprint’s 4G network with any WiFi capable device.

The ad features “Matt” and the appropriately-named iPhone-owner “Steve.”

“My friend Steve’s iPhone is cool, but it’s limited to AT&T’s 3G speeds,” Matt says. “So I’m going to use the Overdrive 4G mobile hotspot to make it up to ten times faster. Read more…

Apple to Change iPhone Strategy, Decrease Screen Size?

The Street’s Jason Schwarz predicts that come June Apple will decrease the screen size of the iPhone as part of a new strategy to focus on the iPad.

“The iPhone turns into your tethering your device. It turns into your Internet connection. You only have to pay one bill, one phone bill, and all your devices can connect to a 3G and eventually a 4G wireless network. So in effect what the iPhone becomes for Apple is the glue that holds their mobile ecosystem in place.” Read more…

Bluetooth Star Wars Lightsaber Duel for iPhone Coming Soon

THQ Wireless is set to release a Bluetooth enabled Lightsaber Duel app for iPhone next month, according to Mobile Entertainment.

The app follows the 2008 Lightsaber Unleashed game which was a revamped version of an unofficial app called PhoneSaber. It will feature officially licensed lightsaber sounds while iPhone users swing against each other using Bluetooth connectivity. Read more…

Apple Having Trouble Negotiating iPad Deals

Apple is still negotiating with media companies for a price cut on TV show downloads for the iPad, according to the Wall Street Journal.

Apple also hoped to work closely with newspaper, magazines and textbook publishers on new ways to digitally present print content on the iPad, but has for now put the effort on backburner in favor of focusing on other content, said one of those people. Read more…

Apple Bans Protective Screen Films From Apple Store

iLounge is reporting that Apple has banned protective screen films from its retail and online stores. Several film-screen manufacturers have confirmed that Apple’s ban will take effect in May. Multiple vendors told iLounge that Apple has said that it will remove both film-only solutions from its stores, as well as any case or other accessory that includes film protection as part of its package, such as cases that include film screen protectors.
