A month or two back, I shelled out US$4.99 to pick up a copy of yxplayer, a video playback utility available on the App Store. Yxplayer isn’t particularly user friendly or over designed. I am also about as far away from yxplayer’s core demographic as anyone can get. (More about that later.) Although iControlPad never materialized, gPod, an iPhone case with an integrating gaming control pad, hopes to see the light of day.

Interfacing with the Apple 30 pin connector and providing tactile buttons in the conventional game pad layout, the iPhone Game Pad allows a massive library of arcade and console games to be ported to the iPhone and not loose that old school interface that people who grew up in the 80′s and 90′s enjoyed so much. Jailbreaking Not Illegal, Exempt From DMCA

After a couple of years of fighting with Apple the EFF successfully deemed that jailbreaking or unlocking your iphone is not illegal. The good ol library of congress has made it official check out the ruling (HERE). Jailbreaking was never illegal and never could have been illegal, Apple argued that jailbreaking was copyright infringment (Article HERE). To all of those people that were afraid of jailbreaking because of the law, Welcome :) . Below is an excerpt from the AP:

I take that back, it was actually very easy to jailbreak the first iphone 2g since all you had to do is visit a website but enough talk listen to the videos for a quick brief on the history of jailbreaking. ATT Prepping New Calling Plans July 25th

Engadget reports AT&T is set to narrow its plan offerings by combining the new ‘Data Pro’ and ‘Data Plus’ with new calling plans. Essentially, the difference between each respective plan is the higher end gets unlimited texting while the cheaper goes the ‘pay-per-use’ method. The spy shot below explains everything else.

Apple has started their free iPhone 4 case program. The rules are simple, download their specific iphone app made for the program using your iPhone 4, launch it and sign in using your itunes id and then select the case or bumper you would want.

It may be hard for you guys to find in the appstore but just search specifically for iphone 4 case program. As of right now i’m having problems getting the app to work I can’t sign in, im sure everyone is overloading their servers so if it doesn’t work you can try again later.

Apple: White iPhone 4 Delayed Again!

Apple really has had a terrible time with the launch of its most succesful product ever, the iPhone 4  — this morning the company has been forced to admit that white models of the iPhone 4 won’t ship until later this year, citing manufacturing problems.

Statement follows:

White models of Apple’s new iPhone® 4 have proven more challenging to manufacture than expected, and as a result they will not be available until the second half of July. The availability of the more popular iPhone 4 black models is not affected.

We’re sure that’s going to leave some customers disappointed, but let’s face it — sales are so brisk at the moment most of us are having a tough time getting an iPhone at all, let alone the white model.
