Download:

Thanks to iJunboy88 over at xsellize for the upl0ad. AppLocket is an app locker that pretty much replicates the old phones to where you had to push unlock and then the  * key to be able to use it. AppLocket locks all of the apps on the springboard when activated by pushing your desired settings (Default is volume up two times and down once), after you have activate AppLocket anyone who taps on an app icon will not be able to use it. In turn It completely negates access to the entire phone itself until one of the activation methods unlocks it.

  • After downloading deb rename it to locket.deb
  • Copy it to var/mobile on your iphone and install it using ifile or do the following
  • Open up mobile terminal
  • Type in su (press return)
  • Type in alpine (press return)
  • Type in dpkg -i locket.deb (press return)
  • Respring or Reboot and enjoy.

Warning: Make sure you have a way to unlock it do not set up the wrong settings to where you can’t unlock your apps otherwise you will be stuck and have to uninstall applocket by setting your iphone into safemode uninstalling through cydia.

Apple will not return a stolen iPhone to to the original owner after the thief took the phone in to get serviced due to the victim’s failure to file a police report.

After getting her iPhone stolen, one reader relayed to Consumerist the tale of her failed attempts to try to get it back from AT&T and Apple. The crime happened on the subway in New York city, after which the victim promptly called the police who searched the area to no avail.

Several weeks later the victim received an email from Apple notifying her that someone had filed a request to replace her broken phone through Apple Care. Read more…

Snappy 2.0 Adds 3GS Video, MMS, Geotagging

January 01, 2010 :: Posted by - SoSly :: Category - News

What’s New in Version 2.0
- Video for 3gs (with option for video as default on launch).
- MMS for MMS enabled devices.
- Geo tagging.
- Faster image writing.

iPhone Credit Card Reader To Be Demoed At CES

December 31, 2009 :: Posted by - SoSly :: Category - News

Coming this CES (which is actually next week): a complete credit card transaction accessory and service for your iPhone. If this thing works as expected, you might actually see it in more than a few places (think: street vendors that will take credit card payments). A company called Mophie is planning to show off an add-on that works with an app to deliver credit card payments through Square, a payment service recently started up by Jack Dorsey, a Twitter alumni. This is one of a couple such systems that will be vying to fulfill the function (and probably take a few cents from each transaction for their troubles), but so far all we’ve really got is demos, no actual releases planned.

But maybe we’ll hear more at CES. There’s all kinds of applications here — a solid, working implementation of a service like this could end up being extremely popular for anybody that regularly needs to conduct transactions out in the field.

Hear What You Sound Like Drunk!!!

December 31, 2009 :: Posted by - SoSly :: Category - News

After years of research and untold hours listening to drunk relatives, developers at bitCycle have launched Drunkalizer for the iPhone. With the ability to record voices and play them back as they would sound while inebriated, Drunkalizer is entertaining iPhone users everywhere just in time for New Year’s Eve.

Using the iPhone’s built in microphone to record your friends’ (or your own) voices and to play them back through Drunkalizer’s revolutionary anti-sobriety filtering, enables users to hear what they’ll sound like when they’ve had a few. Drunkalizer is not a scientifically proven sobriety check, nor is Drunkalizer a portable breathalyzer, however it is great fun and perfect for New Year’s parties everywhere. Read more…
