iAds Generate $1,400 for One Dev in a Day

iPhone app developer Jason Ting is letting the world know: In just one day, iAds generated almost $1,400 in revenue for his free iPhone 4 app.

Yesterday, Ting’s app was unleashed on the App Store. It’s a program that lets you turn your iPhone’s flash — a new feature for the iPhone 4 — into an LED flashlight at will. While the app did solidly on its first day of sales, what impressed Ting most were the stats for the free, iAd-supported version. Read more…

YouTube Web App Gets Updated With HTML5

This afternoon YouTube completely transformed their mobile website into something completely new. The site features a drastic overhaul and is written specifically for HTML5 devices such as the iPhone and iPod touch.

The new user interface begins with a very clean looking ‘home-screen’ with quick and easy access to subscriptions, playlists, favorites, your uploaded content, as well as quick access to video searching and settings. Read more…

iPhone 3GS Recognizes FaceTime URLs in iOS 4

FaceTime supports iOS URL schemes, enabling users to initiate a call by clicking on a hyperlink. iPhone 3GS users can see and click the links but they don’t work, not even for audio-only calls. Yet.

Reader Felipe Baez discovered facetime:// URL scheme support while examining how FaceTime works. iOS began supporting URL schemes a couple years ago; the feature enables webpage links or apps to launch other apps on the phone.

Today was suppose to be that special day, the day I receive my iphone 4 one day early but it came at a cost. Getting an iPhone 4 early isn’t all that great after all if your camera app doesn’t work, one of the main features including face time and hd video recording are not available to me due to a major software glitch.
