Saurik and  Dustin Howett just update Cydia to v0.9.3182. This updated concerns mainly iPad owners and while not 100%, they made great progress on WinterBoard’s iPad support.I guess people can start making 72px icons for their apps, and optimize their themes….

Dev Team Releases 4.0 3G Beta Jailbreak For Cydia Devs

This is a beta release of redsn0w targeted at developers of jailbroken apps. It uses the same pwnage2 DFU-mode exploit that we’ve been using since the 2.x days.

Please not that this beta is not meant for the average end-user. There are many things “broken” with jailbroken apps in the 4.0beta1 environment right now (that’s the real reason we showed “Veency” in the 4.0 jailbreak demo video last week, instead of say MobileTerminal.app, which is broken!). This beta redsn0w allows the developers behind those jailbroken apps (like MobileTerminal.app!) to fix their software before the general public gets iphoneOS 4.0.

AppAdvice Finds iPad App Page

Info: My3G makes Apps believe that they are on WiFi instead of 3G. With My3G, you can now watch HiDef YouTube videos, use Skype/Fring/Other VOIP apps over the 3G network!

  • After downloading the deb file above rename it to 3g.deb
  • Copy it to var/mobile on your iphone and install using ifile or do the following
  • Open up mobile terminal
  • Type in su (press return)
  • Type in alpine (press return)
  • Type in dpkg -i 3g.deb (press return)
  • Reboot or respring your iphone and enjoy.

CNBC To Air ‘Planet of the Apps’ On Jan. 7th

I was just watching CNBC and saw a commercial for a special called “Planet of the Apps: A Handheld Revolution!” The one-hour program looks at how the launch of the Apple iPhone in June of 2007 gave birth to a revolution in mobile technology. The main site lists some highlight from the show, including a piece on Heroes actor Greg Grunberg and his “second job” as an app developer (he’s one of the people behind the Yowza! app).
