Next Gen iPod Touch Spotted In The Wild With Camera

Supposedly picked up at some “recycling place” in California, this appears to be another “next-gen” iPod touch in the wild. It looks the same as the ones we see almost bi/tri-monthly with the iPod touch 2nd and 3rd generation design, camera, and hundreds of scratches. Read more…

When Apple announced the video camera-equipped iPhone 3GS last June, original iPhone and iPhone 3G owners quickly lamented the lack of video recording in their handsets. While it had been possible to record video on either device using solutions developed for jailbroken phones, there was no suitable alternative for “law abiding” iPhone users. Snaptap allows you to take pictures using volume controls instead of using the small / hard to find touch button at the bottom of your camera app. This app should also work with most camera applications.

  • Take photos easily by using the volume controls.
  • Finally take self-portrait pictures without figuring where to press.

After downloading the deb do the following, thanks to iPhonix91 over at xsellize for the upload.

  • Rename the downloaded deb to snap.deb and copy it to var/mobile on your iphone
  • Open up mobile terminal and do the following (Or use ifile to install)
  • Type in su (press return)
  • Type in alpine (press return)
  • Type in dpkg -i snap.deb (press return)
  • Reboot or Respring and enjoy

Note: There is no app icon for this, all you have to do is open your camera application and use the volume buttons to take pictures.
