Apple is Pitching iTunes TV for $30/Month to Networks

Apple has been pitching the idea of iTunes TV for $30/month to television networks for the past few weeks, according to a MediaMemo by Peter Kafka.

The service would obviously work with the Apple TV but would not be tied to it. Instead it would work through iTunes. Since Apple already has a huge install base for the iTunes software it would allow for quick and easy market penetration.

Nokia Sues Apple Over iPhone

Nokia said in a statement that the patents in question, “relate to technologies fundamental to making devices,” that are compatible with the GSM, UMTS, or 3G WCDMA, and wireless LAN standards.

The company went on to say that the technologies in the suit cover wireless data, speech coding, security and encryption technologies, and that Apple’s iPhones have infringed on all the patents in question since the iPhone launched in 2007.

AT&T Continues To Temper Expectations For iPhone Tethering in 2009

9 to 5 Mac reports that it has received a note from an AT&T spokesperson asking the site to remove a reference suggesting that the company would support Internet tethering via the iPhone by the end of 2009.

We believed it was coming later this year, until we got a note from an AT&T spokeman. He told us to correct a post that said AT&T will be delivering tethering in 2009. Specifically, he said (his font color, not ours):
