That was fast. Apple has updated international websites to note that iPad pre-orders accepted from today on out will ship by June 7th. If you’ve already placed an order, you can still expect to receive your shiny new device on May 28th.

It was just this week that Apple began accepting pre-orders from the U.K., Australia, France, Germany, Japan, Canada, Switzerland, Spain and Italy with a ship date of the 28th. Could it be that they’ve exhausted that initial supply in two days? If so, “selling like hotcakes” is an understatement. Read more…

When iPads fall into the eager hands of Apple fans in Australia, Canada, France, Germany, Italy, Japan, Spain, Switzerland and the UK on May 28th, the iBookstore and Apple’s free iBooks e-reader app may be there.

Apple has confirmed that iBooks and the iBookstore will be available in all of the listed countries with the exception of Germany and Switzerland, and we’ll be sure to update this post as soon as we’ve received word that those two countries have been added to the list (we’re starting a rumor here that Apple has to stock up on digital umlauts and eszetts before opening these iBookstores). This will come as a disappointment to our international readers, but it seems that Apple has pushed the international iPad release back an entire month.

The iPad’s UK page used to say “Coming late April.” Today that was changed to “Coming late May.” The good news is that Apple has set a pre-order date of May 10th in the UK, Canada, France, Australia and Germany.

In a press release today, Apple said that the iPad’s US popularity is to blame for the lag: “Demand is far higher than we predicted and will likely continue to exceed our supply over the next several weeks as more people see and touch an iPad.” Apple also said they sold more than half a million iPads in the first week.

The German maker of a new tablet PC is setting out to rival Apple’s iPad with the promise of even more technology such as a bigger screen, a webcam and USB ports.

Today Apple announced that the iPad will ship in April, writing that the device will “be available in the US on Saturday, April 3, for Wi-Fi models and in late April for Wi-Fi + 3G models. In addition, all models of iPad will be available in Australia, Canada, France, Germany, Italy, Japan, Spain, Switzerland and the UK in late April.” Consumers will be able to pre-order their units starting March 12th, with pick-up at Apple retail stores. If your one of the many iPhone users who have unlocked your iPhone on OS 3.x, then chances are you’ve lost the ability to receive push notifications. I for one lost this ability with my unlocked iPhone 3GS. This was a big disappointment for me as I used the feature every day. I spent countless hours trying various fixes out there, including the PushFix found on various cydia repos (which really just made things worse), manually installingpush certificates, and even trying to generate my own certificates.
