Sprint has released an ad that features the iPhone with its Overdrive 3G/4G Hotspot mobile router. The Overdrive allows you to use Sprint’s 4G network with any WiFi capable device.

The ad features “Matt” and the appropriately-named iPhone-owner “Steve.”

“My friend Steve’s iPhone is cool, but it’s limited to AT&T’s 3G speeds,” Matt says. “So I’m going to use the Overdrive 4G mobile hotspot to make it up to ten times faster. Read more…

The Street’s Jason Schwarz predicts that come June Apple will decrease the screen size of the iPhone as part of a new strategy to focus on the iPad.

“The iPhone turns into your tethering your device. It turns into your Internet connection. You only have to pay one bill, one phone bill, and all your devices can connect to a 3G and eventually a 4G wireless network. So in effect what the iPhone becomes for Apple is the glue that holds their mobile ecosystem in place.” Read more…

Here’s an interesting post by a blogger named teucher that echoes something we’ve heard from developers before — that the iPhone and the iPad will require completely different experiences. When the iPad was first announced, one of Apple’s big selling points was that it already had a full library of software ready to go — any iPhone app could and would easily run on the iPad. iLounge is reporting that Apple has banned protective screen films from its retail and online stores. Several film-screen manufacturers have confirmed that Apple’s ban will take effect in May. Multiple vendors told iLounge that Apple has said that it will remove both film-only solutions from its stores, as well as any case or other accessory that includes film protection as part of its package, such as cases that include film screen protectors. Geohot has tweeted that the Geohot Facebook Page which has announced a BlackRa1n update for 3.1.3 is 100% fake.

The facebook page that says I am working on a 3.1.3 jailbreak is 100% fake. The only official sources are “On the iPhone” and this twitter.

We will of course post if any real updates are available for BlackRa1n.

If a recent survey from market research firm Crowd Science is anything to go by, there’s dark times ahead for RIM, maker of the Blackberry smartphone. 40% of survey respondents said they plan to ditch their Blackberry handset for an iPhone when it’s time to upgrade. As if that wasn’t bad enough, another 32% of those surveyed said they’d be getting a Nexus One for their next smartphone instead of another Blackberry. Read more…

SpringBoard Rotator is a new tweak that will be released soon in Cydia. This tweak will enable SpringBoard to rotate according to the device’s orientation! It does not rotate only the icons, it rotates the whole user interface!

Currently it only works on iPhone 3Gs, and the name may change prior to release. We will keep you updated. Stay tuned…
