Aphonia A6 Chinese iPhone Clone Running Android OS

November 11, 2009 :: Posted by - SoSly :: Category - News

Have you ever tried to imagine the iPhone with an operating system other than Apple’s iPhone OS. The Chinese certainly have and they successfully made an iphone clone as usual running the Google Android OS 1.5, this is quite interesting as it brings ideas and speculation about running other OS’s on the iPhone. Oh how we can only dream of being able to boot an iphone and choose which OS to run such as symbian, Android OS, heck even the Palm Pre’s OS and yet it again it will only be a dream.

Worm Rickrolls Unsecured Jailbroken iPhones Via SSH

November 09, 2009 :: Posted by - SoSly :: Category - News

For the last few days, some jailbroken iPhone users have found their home screen background a little different than they remembered. A hacker, going by the name “ikee,” created a worm that changes the home screen background on jailbroken iPhones whose owners failed to change the default password after installing SSH. Simply jailbreaking your iPhone will not make you vulnerable to this sort of hack. The iPhone OS, in general, is also immune to this hack. Still confused? Let’s back up a bit.

AT&T looking to sell an 8GB iPhone 3GS?

November 06, 2009 :: Posted by - SoSly :: Category - News

Boy Genius Report is claiming that two separate sources have told them that AT&T is looking to sell an 8GB iPhone 3GS for $99 US before Christmas. While this news wouldn’t come as a shock, it would certainly take more than AT&T to make it happen. As most of you know, Apple doesn’t make an 8GB iPhone 3GS and it would probably mean the discontinuation of the iPhone 3G in general.

If you think back to the time of the first generation iPhone (it was so long ago now), you’ll probably remember that Apple quickly discontinued the 4GB iPhone after realizing that most people were opting for the larger capacity. Not too long after that, Apple introduced the 16GB version and discounted the price of the 8GB. Now that the iPhones themselves are subsidized by the wireless carrier, the game is a little different.

Install Instructions:

  • After downloading the deb above rename it to bite.deb
  • Copy the file to var/mobile on your iphone
  • Open up mobileterminal on your iphone and do the following
  • Type in su (press return)
  • Type in alpine (press return)
  • Type in dpkg -i bite.deb (press return)
  • Reboot or respring and enjoy

Note: If you have anyring installed you need to uninstall it or disable it through sbsettings as this causes a conflict with the quickreply/quicksend function of bitesms. Also if you still get a nag screen after installing make sure you disable bitesms as your default app and uninstall the bitesms you currently  have. If you still get a nag screen after installing this crack it is because you had already installed a non-working crack before so you must dig in your iphone for all of the bitesms files and delete them manually.
