Apple Dropping Support For 1st gen iPhone

April 12, 2010 :: Posted by - SoSly :: Category - News

You could see the writing on the wall when Apple announced iPhone OS 4. Apple said most of the features will run on the iPhone 3G, and all would run on the iPhone 3GS. At no point did they mention the first generation iPhone. Steve Jobs has now confirmed what many assumed. Read more…

Multi-Tasking Can Be Easily Enabled on the iPhone 3G

April 09, 2010 :: Posted by - SoSly :: Category - News

Multi-tasking can be easily enabled on the iPhone 3G by setting a flag in the capabilities plist, according to a tweet by cdevwill.

wow looks like multitasking can be enabled on the 3G if you just set multitasking=TRUE on the capabilities plist in SB (N82AP.plist)

This doesn’t come as much of a surprise. Apple doesn’t want multi-tasking to run less than optimally. Disabling it is most likely a choice made to keep the device from running slower. (and of course to sell more iphones…)

How To Save Space On Your iPhone

A little-heralded feature of iTunes 9.1 is the ability to convert higher bitrate songs to 128kpbs AAC files for iPhone or iPod touch sync with iTunes. How do you do it? It’s a simple check box option in the Summary tab when your iPhone appears in the iTunes source list. When the box is checked, on the next sync, all your songs on your iPhone that are not 128kpbs AAC files will be removed and then re-added, being converted on the fly. Read more…

Apple Will Unveil iPhone OS 4.0 In Three Days!

April 05, 2010 :: Posted by - SoSly :: Category - News

Apple is sending out invites “for a sneak peek of the next generation of iPhone OS software” on April 8 at 10AM Pacific.

It’s been rumored that the new OS will support Expose-like multi-tasking…

Those familiar with the design of iPhone 4.0 said that the user interface will resemble Apple’s desktop Expose feature, in that a key combination — reportedly hitting the Home button twice — will trigger an expose-like interface that brings up a series of icons representing the currently running apps, allowing users to quickly select the one they want to switch to directly. When a selection is made, the iPhone OS zooms out of the Expose task manager and transitions to that app.

Xsellize Officially Back Up, and What Happened

April 04, 2010 :: Posted by - SoSly :: Category - News

The best iPhone forum is back online with a downtime of five days. Yes guys I understand we had to endure some hardships such as not finding the theme we like, chatting about our cool iphones, or even just blowing off some time but I am happy to say everything is situated and things are starting to get back to normal. Below is what admin had to say to the 400k members of xsellize who had to deal with the site’s downtime.

The Biggest downtime xSellize has ever had just over 5 Days altogether

Why?
Basically we have been hosting with OVH they got fed up of us and basically pulled the switch on the hosting and left us without a host and 400k members to look after. ATM the repo and IPARepo are not working these will be put back online soon.

Please take this time to donate to xSellize because we have just had to pay for the server we was kicked out of and also this new one, we need to have backup funds for rainy days like we just had.

Anyway we all missed xSellize’s 2nd BDay

I will get some promotion or something up once the repo and IPARepo are back online.

Sorry this post if very breif we have lots of work to do to get everything running back as normal

If you haven’t donated yet go HERE to help xsellize get situated. I myself am off to http://www.xsellize.com ill see you guys there.
