To all the new jailbreakers and to all of those wondering how spirit looks and works, I have made a video tutorial on how to jailbreak your i-device with the newly released spirit jailbreak by comex and the dev team.

Note: If using an unlock be careful when restoring, use sauriks server to restore to original 3.1.2 firmware

• To get an untethered jailbreak if your tethered you must restore to original firmware first either 3.1.2 or 3.1.3 depending if you need your unlock.
• After doing so you can jailbreak using spirit and you will have an untethered jailbreak

Comex just tweeted the official web page for the upcoming jailbreak named Spirit. Spirit will jailbreak all of the latest i-devices and the latest Apple firmware 3.1.3. Musclenerd whom is a member of the dev team has posted a video as you can see above showing everyone that the new ipad 3g + wifi released today is jailbreakable with the new spirit jailbreak. MuscleNerd from the iPhone Dev Team is warning users who are hoping to use a userland jailbreak for the iPad, iPhone, or iPod to hold off on updating to iTunes 9.1.1.

Today’s 9.1.1 iTunes is safe for PwnageTool&redsn0w. But those hoping to use userland JBs (like Spirit) should hold off.

In general, those using *any* userland JB should avoid iTunes updates, since iTunes can detect & remove it.

It is widely expected that the “Spirit” userland jailbreak by comex will be the first jailbreak to be released for the iPad. Spirit also provides an untethered jailbreak for the iPhone 3GS and iPod touch.

Geohot has announced that he’s updated the BlackRa1n jailbreak to support the iPad!

Still no word on a release date; however, Geohot has posted an image of BlackRa1n and Cydia installed on the iPad.

Will Strafach has posted the first images of Cydia running on the iPad. His iPad was jailbroken using the ‘Spirit’ jailbreak by Comex.

“I didn’t think anything could be faster than ra1n or gp. @comex proved that wrong. It works so naturally. All he needs now is an ego inflation and he’ll be the new @geohot! *g* In all seriousness though, top notch stuff. ”

Saturday is the day when you can finally get the latest, greatest Apple device: the iPad. Probably most of you will jailbreak this iDevice as well, but even if you won’t jailbreak it, you should save your ECID SHSH via Umbrella. Sony has shown us that removing functionality in FW updates is a legit concern. Preserve iPad 3.2 restores to TRUE factory FW.

If you have no idea what umbrella are we talking about, don’t worry, we’re gonna have a tutorial on how to do it. Stay tuned…
