How To Jailbreak Your iPad, iPhone 3GS, iPod Touch With Spirit

To all the new jailbreakers and to all of those wondering how spirit looks and works, I have made a video tutorial on how to jailbreak your i-device with the newly released spirit jailbreak by comex and the dev team.

Note: If using an unlock be careful when restoring, use sauriks server to restore to original 3.1.2 firmware

  • To get an untethered jailbreak if your tethered you must restore to original firmware first either 3.1.2 or 3.1.3 depending if you need your unlock.
  • After doing so you can jailbreak using spirit and you will have an untethered jailbreak

Upcoming Dev Team Jailbreak Is Taking It Old School

Yes you read it right, the dev team may be taking it old school with a userland untethered jailbreak release in the future. If you don’t know what that is, then you must not have jailbroken your iphone back in the 1.x.x days. To all you new generation jailbreakers, jailbreaking the first iphone was as easy as using safari on your iphone and visiting a website called jailbreakme.com then tapping on a link called snaptap. How To Protect Yourself From SSH-based iPhone Worms

The internet has been ablaze with reports of jailbroken iPhones being infested with worms. The exploit takes advantage of unwitting jailbreakers who install OpenSSH on their iPhones via Cydia without taking into account all of the impacts on security. The most notable, and now famous, hole in this theory is that every iPhone ships with the same default password for both the all-powerful “root” user as well as the more-restricted “mobile” user.

Worm Rickrolls Unsecured Jailbroken iPhones Via SSH

For the last few days, some jailbroken iPhone users have found their home screen background a little different than they remembered. A hacker, going by the name “ikee,” created a worm that changes the home screen background on jailbroken iPhones whose owners failed to change the default password after installing SSH. Simply jailbreaking your iPhone will not make you vulnerable to this sort of hack. The iPhone OS, in general, is also immune to this hack. Still confused? Let’s back up a bit.
