Now supports tethering on 3.1+ and all iPhones (including 2G/3G/3GS)! Create a WiFi HotSpot with a press of a finger! Wherever you are – you can connect your laptop or other mobile device to your iPhone easily! You can also use MyWi to enable default USB/Bluetooth Tethering on 3.1! This is the no rock extensions version of mywi so that means no installing rock which causes crashes if installed along with cydia and what not.

Notes: Make sure and uninstall pdanet or mywi if already installed. If your also having problems with being asked to authenticate you can do the following

Run WinSCP, PuTTY trough it or use mobile terminal and log in as root and type in the flowing command:
/private/var/stash/Applications.TSJFm8/MyWi.app/licgen

• After downloading rename the deb to mywi.deb
• Copy it to var/mobile on your iphone and install using ifile or do the following
• Open Mobile terminal
• Type in su (press return)
• Type in alpine (press return)
• Type in dpkg -i mywi.deb (press return)
• Reboot or Respring and enjoy

Here’s the thing. You know, and I know, that AT&T has not yet enabled tethering in the US, while carriers all across the globe have already given their iPhone customers the ability to use their phones as wireless modems for their laptops. You and I also know that strictly speaking tethering falls outside the normal terms of use for your iPhone data contract — and that there are jailbreak solutions to get around this (hopefully temporary) constraint. Notes: Make sure and uninstall any previous versions of mywi or this will cause glitches. This cracked DEB will not work if you jailbroke your iPhone using RedSn0w or a PwnageTool IPSW.

First it was the whole jailbroken iphone in a commercial click here if you missed it and now this. It seems jailbreaking the iPhone is becoming more common to the public. Me2600 a fellow iphone user was at bestbuy going on about his day and to his surprise he saw an iphone on display, yes yes I know we all see iphones on display but to his surprise this one was jailbroken with Rockapp and Mywi installed. All I can think is way to go best buy employee who had to have taken the time to jailbreak, browse for and install the apps on the iphone then put it on display for the world to see. May I also recommend installing some other cool apps that might catch peoples attention such as nes or intelliscreeen.

Note: Pay close attention to the 29 sec mark of the video, it seems whoever installed MyWi somehow patched or did some easy workaround to make the normal 14 day trial of the app last 3451 days.
