May 18, 2010 :: Posted by - SoSly :: Category - News

First revealed last year following the release of Apple’s fifth-generation iPod nano, the Nike + iPod Compatible Heart Rate Monitor is finally set for a U.S. release of June 1.

The news comes from a “Nike+ Pro” on the shoemaker’s official forums. While the person did not reveal why the hardware has taken so long to arrive, they did announce the U.S. release, which will be followed by other international releases this summer.

“It will officially launch (in the U.S.) on June 1, 2010, although it may reach some retail outlets slightly sooner,” the Nike official, named Clover, wrote. “It will reach Canadian markets in June and will launch internationally in summer 2010, exact date to be determined.” Read more…

iPod Nano Gets A Camera

September 10, 2009 :: Posted by - SoSly :: Category - News

As well-documented by the “word on the street,” the fifth generation iPod nano is also a video camera…and radio and a pedometer and a voice recorder too…and it’s available today. Details:

• Video camera (640×480)
• Integrated mic
• Integrated speaker
• FM Radio!!!!!
• One-click YouTube uploads
• Voice Over like Shuffle
• Pedometer with Nike+ syncing online
• Voice Recorder
• 2.2-inch screen is possibly larger than last model

Starting today, the 8GB nano will cost $150 while the 16GB comes in at $180. (So why buy the 8?) What’s the biggest surprise here? The camera we knew about. But the radio? The video support? I do have to admit, if it’s this or a Flip, the nano is certainly more tempting.
