After months of speculation, AT&T has finally announced that MMS will be available to their iPhone 3G and iPhone 3GS customers on September 25.
Unfortunately, there is still no news as to when tethering will be available as there was no mention of it in the press release, so looks like AT&T customers will have to wait even longer for that feature.
As you might know, AT&T was one of the carriers that did not offer MMS and tethering feature to their customers, which was included in iPhone OS 3.0.
AT&T has explained the reason for the delay in rolling out the feature:
” We know many of our iPhone customers are eager for an update on our rollout schedule for Multimedia Messaging Service (MMS). We’ve been working for the past several months to prepare our systems and network to ensure the best possible experience with MMS when it launches – and that launch date is: September 25 for iPhone 3G and 3GS customers.
