Opera Mini for iPhone Approved!

Apple has approved the Opera Mini for the iPhone, causing a collective gasp of shock around the Internet. Opera announced the approval this evening, saying that the free app will be available within the next 24 hours. UK and Australian readers are reporting to Engadget that they’re able to download the app already. Want to give it a try? Give this link a shot.

YouTube user slicedcheddarcheese has posted a video of Opera Mini 4.1 beta running on the iPhone.

Opera mini 4.1 works in this way:
- You enter the website address on your cellphone.
- The website info will be sent to Opera’s servers.
- The servers will download and compress the whole website for you(compresses up to 90%!), then it sends the website to your handset, making internet browsing much more cheaper and faster. Read more…

Opera To Launch Faster Browser for iPhone

Opera Software says it will launch a version of its Mini browser for the iPhone next week, according to Reuters.

The browser is said to offer consumers up to six times faster download speeds than Apple’s Safari, and cut data traffic by up to 90 percent.
