Display Recorder. A few weeks ago, we told you that Ryan Petrich is working on a real-time high quality screen recorder for the iPhone and iPod Touch. Well the app is finally here, and the vid above is recorded with this app and uploaded directly from an iPhone 3Gs to YouTube.

The apps will work on iPhone 3Gs and iTouch 3rd gen only and it features:

• records directly to high quality AVI
• web interface to manage recordings
• on-device YouTube uploading
• adjustable framerate and quality settings
• hardware accelerated video encoding
• activator integration for quick access
• remote control via web interface

Ryan Petrich and Chpwn have released an update to their ProSwitcher utility to easily switch between background iPhone apps.

ProSwitcher 1.0 can be installed from the BigBoss Cydia Repository. It is a Palm Pre-styled application switcher which integrates with SpringBoard for a simple and smooth experience.

To force applications to run in the background you must use the Backgrounder application which can also be installed from Cydia.

Say What? A Free and OpenSource Multitasking App? What about multifl0w you say? Hope you didn’t think that was going to be the last multitasking app to come to the iPhone. A few days ago we got wind of some screenshots and information for the new app.

Ryan Petrich, developer of OverBoard, has announced ProSwitcher, another Palm Web OS inspired utility to navigate through the applications running in the background on your iPhone, much like MultiFl0w does, only much easier, faster and more intuitive. And to top it all off, it’s FREE andOpenSource! The app is also being developed with the help of chpwn. Ryan Petrich showcased ProSwitcher for jailbroken iPhones

, ProSwitcher enables palm pre like multitasking for jailbroken iPhones. ProSwitcher app that shows exactly how simple power features can drastically improve the iPhone user experience. The basic idea behind ProSwitcher is you can switch between apps while automatically back grounding the app you leave. ProSwitcher integrates with Backgrounder similar to how Kirikae does it. ProSwitcher is highly customizable with the options to select background, dim back ground, swipe to close etc. Another handy feature is the ability to quit apps from within ProSwitcher. Just select the application that you want to quit with the customary finger  slide, then hit quit.
