Use iPhone 4 data plan with iPad 3G

July 09, 2010 :: Posted by - SoSly :: Category - News

I love my iPad 3G, almost unnecessarily so. I use it as my primary computer for a multitude of tasks. The only thing that I dislike about my iPad is that I have to pay AT&T even more money to use their data network, even though I’m already paying for it with my new iPhone 4.

We have covered in the past how to manage your 3G data with your iPad using the Apple/AT&T-sanctioned methods built in to the device itself. Today, we want to show you how you can swap Micro-SIMs to make use of your iPhone’s unlimited data plan with your iPad. Read more…

iPhone 4 Battery Life Info With FaceTime Video Calling

June 24, 2010 :: Posted by - SoSly :: Category - News

iLounge has taken the time to measure how long you can FaceTime video chat on your iPhone 4 before its battery dies.

Three hours and 10 minutes, give or take a little, from a completely charged iPhone 4. That’s via Wi-Fi, as compared with a promised 7 hours of voice-only talk time over 3G, and 10 hours of standard data time over Wi-Fi—the difference is attributable to iPhone 4’s camera, mics, speaker, video and audio encoding and decoding capabilities all being used at the same time.

iLounge tested this on two devices and saw an average battery consumption of 30% per hour.

Today was suppose to be that special day, the day I receive my iphone 4 one day early but it came at a cost. iPhone 4 Shipments Pushed Back To July 14th

June 16, 2010 :: Posted by - SoSly :: Category - News

Oh, dear. Those crazy iPhone fans really did go mental pre-orders, because Apple has pushed back the ship by date for the iPhone 4 for the second time in under 18 hours. Instead of a ship by date of July 2nd, all orders placed from this point on are not scheduled to ship until the 14th of July. That’s 20 days after launch. If Apple sold 600,000 iPhones yesterday alone, we cannot wait to see what the final day one figure turns out to be when all is said and done.

“It took quite a long time for me to just save up this small amount of money to go down and purchase one,” she said. “I had my cash in the backpack and I went up proudly to the counter and told them, ‘I would like to purchase an iPad.’” Read more…

Nintendo President Dubs iPad and iPhone As ‘Enemy of the Future’

May 07, 2010 :: Posted by - SoSly :: Category - News

Nintendo president Satoru Iwata has purportedly dubbed Apple’s iPad and iPhone devices to senior executives as the “enemy of the future,” according to the Times Online UK.

His words come at a time when Nintendo is witnessing falling profits, as millions own a DS and a Wii — and an iPhone. Oddly enough, Iwata’s remarks come little more than a month after Nintendo of America president Reggie Fils-Aime told Kotaku “Clearly it doesn’t look like their platform is a viable profit platform for game development because so many of the games are free versus paid downloads.” Read more…
