BeeJive IM for iPad Submitted to App Store

May 13, 2010 :: Posted by - SoSly :: Category - News

BeeJive IM for iPad has been submitted to the App Store for review and should be available by next week, according to a Wired report.

The site had a chance to try an almost finalized version…

My favorite part about the BeeJive UI is it lists your chat sessions in a column on the right side of the screen. You can see a preview of what a person is saying in a bubble, which eliminates the need to switch back and forth between chats over and over. Selecting a chat in the right window displays the full conversation in the center screen. Read more…

PC Malware Targeting iPad Users

April 26, 2010 :: Posted by - SoSly :: Category - News

Here’s a cute trick. Some PC owners are getting emails alerting them to a new version of iTunes that has been updated “…for best iPad performance, newer features and security.”

The email provides a link, asking recipients to download a “new” version of iTunes. You see where this is going, of course. Those who follow through actually download a counterfeit version of iTunes which contains malicious code that opens up a backdoor allowing unauthorized access to a PC. Read more…

The need For Multiple ipa Delivery

March 09, 2010 :: Posted by - SoSly :: Category - News

App Store clutter remains an ongoing issue. In addition to “business card” applications that offer little or no functionality beyond a simple web page[1], there are lite editions, demo editions, full editions, and even in the case of Tweetie 2, completely new applications providing upgraded functionality.

Each of those applications must be registered with a unique app identifier, each one takes up a separate slot when installed on your iPhone’s home screen, each application occupies a separate App Store listing, complete with its own screen shots, marketing material, reviews, and so forth. Each one must be managed by you in iTunes, where you must decide which to sync, which to keep, and so forth. Read more…

February 15, 2010 :: Posted by - SoSly :: Category - News

Set to arrive in the App Store sometime next month, Street Fighter IV is no quick port, hastily tossed at the iPhone in the name of getting a mobile version out on the streets. Capcom has apparently taken the iPhone conversion of their brawler quite seriously. They’ve spent months perfecting the on-screen virtual control systems, alone, realizing that the game demands highly precise controls for true mastery. Read more…
