Springboard Rotator Released In Cydia Store

March 29, 2010 :: Posted by - SoSly :: Category - News

Springboard rotator has finally been released in the cydia store for $1.99. The tweak as of right now has a lot of bugs and conflicts with apps such as infiniboard, five i rows, stacks and many other cydia tweaks. If you have a lot of tweaks installed I recommend to not install springboard rotator as of right now.

Also if you would like to try before you buy add http://theiphonespotrepo.net/apt to your cydia sources and check it out if it works for you before shelling out two bucks. Don’t forget to support the dev if you do actually use this!

Geo Hot’s Response :  “Welcome to proper challenge response, guess someone at Apple finally read a book on security. At least it’s not in the bootroms yet.”

The firmwareumbrella published in his blog that he found a new key named APTicket that might be a means for Apple to stop us jailbreakers from restoring to versions of firmwares that are not signed anymore.

This would mean Apple would get complete control over what you restore and when you restore it. While jailbroken devices are able to accept custom firmwares, the new bootroom 3gs and the ipt3g and MC can’t Read more…

James Cameron: Watching films on an iPhone is “dumb”

March 29, 2010 :: Posted by - SoSly :: Category - News

At a press conference where he spoke about the April release of the Blu-ray edition of his latest film, James Cameron said watching Avatar on the iPhone would be “dumb.” More specifically he said, “I don’t feel that I’m making movies for iPhones. If someone wants to watch it on an iPhone, I’m not going to stop them, especially if they’re paying for it, but I don’t recommend it. I think it’s dumb, when you have characters that are so small in the frame that they’re not visible.” Read more…

Apple Snags The iPad Trademark!

March 26, 2010 :: Posted by - SoSly :: Category - News

No more sleepless nights for Apple’s lawyers, at least not until the Nokia and HTC suits begin to heat up. The company is now the proud owner of a slightly used trademark: iPad™, as of March 17, is no longer a Fujitsu mark and has been assigned to Apple. Much speculation had surrounded the trademark process for iPad, as Fujitsu’s mark was being challenged by Apple as early as September 2009, but it looks like the two companies have come to some sort of agreement. Is Apple Adding Explicit Categories For App Store??

March 26, 2010 :: Posted by - SoSly :: Category - News

Apple is readying two categories of explicit apps for the iPhone and iPad, according to MacStories.

The site has found these two URLs (here and here) which lead to sections for the “Top Explicit Paid Software” and “Top Explicit iPad Software”.

The categories are currently empty, and I suppose it’s because they’re not actually ready yet. I think it’s just another technical error by some engineer at Apple.

Geo Hot Does It Again, Creates Untethered Boot For Newer iPhone/iPods

March 25, 2010 :: Posted by - SoSly :: Category - News

I believe it meets the requirements for a good video.

The jailbreak is all software based, and is as simple to use as blackra1n. It is completely untethered, works on all current tethered models(ipt2, 3gs, ipt3), and will probably work on iPad too.

Don’t ask about a release date. You won’t make it happen any sooner.
