PDF Patch Released To Fix iOS Vulnerability
August 12, 2010 :: Posted by - SoSly :: Category - News

As you may know the jailbreakme jailbreak uses a pdf exploit to execute code and take control of the device so that it can be jailbroken. Apple released a firmware update specifically to block the exploit but did not fix the vulnerability on the older ipod touch and iphone 1st gen.
A lot of old school users felt left out so saurik has created a fix for all i-devices and has released pdf patch in cydia. If your jailbroken and are not going to update it is recommended to install this patch immediately.
- Open cydia tap, bottom right tap on search
- search pdf patch and install, enjoy being safe thanks to Saurik.

So I assume if we already have the first PDF patch that was released in Cydia a while ago we don’t necessarily need this patch? Correct?

i havent installed either, but i believe the first one released was just a warning that you are about to open a pdf file. it didnt actually kill the exploit

Ah thanks. I will be uninstalling the other and installing this one. I tried to upgrade the first one in Cydia just now and it wouldn’t upgrade. Saying there were dependency issues.
