Facebook Updates iPhone App With ‘Places’ Feature

Facebook has updated their iPhone app to support ‘Places’, a new feature which lets users check-in when they reach a new location.

Go to Places on the iPhone application or touch.facebook.com site and then tap the “Check In” button. You’ll see a list of places near you. Choose the place that matches where you are. If it’s not on the list, search for it or add it. After checking in, your check-in will create a story in your friends’ News Feeds and show up in the Recent Activity section on the page for that place. Read more…

HBO Go On iPad In 6 Months

HBO Go is coming to an ipad near you. Six months from now, if you have an HBO subscription with Comcast or Verizon FiOS you will be able to watch HBO tv shows and movies in HD on your ipad for free (not free since you pay for subscription). HBO CEO Reed Hasting says that this will be coming to your ipad and many other devices within 6 months.

Yahoo Mail Joins the HTML5 Gang

Photojojo: Real Camera Lenses for Your iPhone

I love the camera on the iPhone 4, but I’ve always disliked digital zoom and do whatever I can to avoid using it. Photojojo has responded to my inner camera snob with two glass lenses that can be attached to the phone via a magnetic ring.

You can always rig an existing camera lens to your phone, and the progress on the iPhone DSLR project is amazing, but this looks to be a more portable solution. A fisheye lens is available for $25 and a wide angle/macro lens is $20. You can get both together for $40. Read more…

Yet another move to end dependence on Flash, giant online video website, Vimeo, today introduces a new universal video player designed to work on the iPhone, iPad, iPod touch (iOS) and Android devices.

Sony Taunting Apple With PSP Big Boy Games

Sony has been taunting Apple and Apple gamers for quite sometime now.  As you can see above they clearly show an i-device look alike with a game running called lame castle. The commercial continues saying that PSP games are for big boys unlike other devices.
