Apple Snags Important Patent for i-Devices
With all these clones of the iphone being made and and horribly might I add, Apple has been granted a very important patent in the smartphone world. The slide to unlock feature you see everyday is now officially Apple’s . I love this feature, it wouldn’t be an i-device if it didn’t have this and what this means to you is absolutely nothing other than you will forever see this feature on future Apple smartphones to come.
On the other hand this is bad news to all of those copy cat phones and companies mimicking the iphone slide to unlock feature. Apple now has the right to charge companies if they want to use this slide to unlock feature using the good ol licensing business model. Hopefully this slows down those copy cats and we stop seeing those lame attempts at copying Apple’s innovation.

to me it seems like an absurd thing to be ‘able’ to patent. a gesture. its equivalent to me lifting one butt cheek to relieve myself of built up gas in my rectum. i patent that and everyone now has to pay me or fart sitting flat in their chair. i mean i ‘have’ established that as something i personally do and something that makes me me.
