Good news for all you unlockers out there that have an iphone 4 and are unlocked on an unofficial carrier. Facetime has been fixed according to mitime.info, the developer of MiTime is well known and has created other cydia packages such as pushfix so it is safe to assume it works.

The way this works is you install the MiTime app from this cydia repo (http://cydia.pushfix.info). You then have to purchase a credit for $5.99 but before purchasing you have to enter your phone number so you can get an international text message which is used for activation.

CallTell is a simple but cool tweak available in cydia that names out who is calling you. So for example you get a call and before ringing like normal the iphone uses its voice control feature to name out whos calling first. CallTell only works on the iPhone 3gs and iPhone 4 since voice control is required.

I love the camera on the iPhone 4, but I’ve always disliked digital zoom and do whatever I can to avoid using it. Photojojo has responded to my inner camera snob with two glass lenses that can be attached to the phone via a magnetic ring.

Now that we have the jailbreak and facetime over 3g what else could we possibly need, quality improvement thats what. A lot of people are unhappy with facetime video calling quality but fret no more facetime mod is here. Facetime mod is said to change the video fps for better quality over wifi and 3g/edge.

The author states that it is only for iphone 4 and the both iphone 4′s that facetime each other must have this installed for it to take effect. He has lowered the minimum fps for users using their data with edge/3g so in turn you will be able to facetime even if you have bad reception but with lower than avg video call quality.

Now that we have the iphone 4 jailbreak along with it being an untethered jailbreak for all other i-devices it is very important for yout to save your shsh blobs. A lot of new people in the jailbreak scene don’t know what those are and its ok you don’t need to just save them. If your not jailbroken I recommend saving your shsh’s anyway so that if you ever want to jailbreak you can. This is urgent right now it is rumored a firmware update is coming today!

Your probably wondering what is all this shsh stuff. Basically whenever Apple releases a new firmware update for i-devices it doesn’t allow you to downgrade to old firmware versions. If you update to a new firmware and there is no jailbreak for it your stuck without, unless you have your shsh’s save. This is simultaneously pretty likely and somewhat hard to believe. Frash for iphone has been updated to support the iPhone 4. Comex a well known hacker/dev in the jailbreak scene has updated frash which is his  port of Android’s 2.2 version of Flash 10.1, allowing it to run on Apple’s iOS. At this point frash is all in alpha testing, yes alpha meaning that it is not fully ready for public release and is still very early in development and is has bugs.
